Neat little spot! The owners are great and the food is just as good. The conch salad was amazing and everyone in our group was happy with their meal.

Max's is legendary for a reason from the conch salad, wild boar, goat, meatloaf, and various ways of cooking conch this is perfection. Gary and Liz are the best. The food is top notch. I eat here as many times as possible per trip. Wonderful people and wonderful food. Much love!

This is a great place to visit and have lunch. Max makes the conch salad in front of you and it is an awesome experience. Also, the Parmesan crusted hogfish is to die for. You can’t visit Long Island without making a trip here. It’s a great family atmosphere.

Max conch bar has the best food on the island. We ate at other places while here on the island and nothing compares. Everything is fresh, made to order, and just outstanding.
The conch salad is second to none. The fish, cracked conch, stew, mac and cheese, just to name a few dishes are outstanding. Gourmet level food. Lovingly prepared by hand by the owners Gary and Liz Ritchie.
I am surprised at the negative review below. If you have eaten here more than once (which we have) you know that everything is prepared fresh. SO if you have 12 people ordering different things and then other customers ahead of you, you don't think there will be a wait? And while it might have been longer than normal, you have to remember you are at a family owned restaurant, not a fast food joint like McD's that has everything ready and just warms it up.
I hate when I read a bad review of a good place because of one visit. We have NEVER waited 2 hours for food so that had to have been a very busy night. When we have come here and it's busy, you sit back, relax and have another drink! You're in the Bahamas!!!! Relax, enjoy!
This place is casual, not a fancy place, but it's the REAL bahamas, good food, good people, good music, good fun. Don't skip eating here...you will regret missing this experience.
PS- I am a vegetarian and so if I ask and they will fix something special for me. Very much appreciated as I have been to restaurants that only say..."we have salad."
