Having checked the website for opening times we decided to take visiting friends to look at the museum as they had expressed an interest.

Bitterly disappointed to find that it was closed and no explanations as to why. Date of visit
22/09/17

Website gives no email or telephone contact either

This is a delightful museum, housed in a building of great architectural interest in its own right. Situate in the centre of town the collection in the Oliver Cromwell Museum is all in just one room. There is a great variety of items on display from coins and documents to swords and costumes. Large portraits of members of the Cromwell family, some painted by prominent artists of the day, hang from the walls - very impressive. Allow half an hour for enjoying a reasonable look at everything. Entry is free but donations are welcomed.

I did not know that Cromwell was born in Huntingdon until we accidentally found this museum and decided to visit it. It's a small museum, but is located in the building where Cromwell's school was, that makes this place even more fascinating. There were a lot of interesting documents, pictures and other things related to Cromwell and his family. You need to see this place. I think a lot of people definitely will find some new information about one of the significant and controversial periods of British history and British democracy.
