We randomly found this museum during a day trip to Huntington - it should really be a highlight of any trip to the town and recommended for Things To Do in Huntington for anyone researching TripAdvisor for tips. The museum is beautifully looked after; has some wonderful historical pieces of the story of Cromwell, his life, and that of his family; and is all hosted inside the very school in which he was educated. We even had a wonderful personal tour by Terry who works in the museum and told us all the extra facts about the culture at the time so all the events had more meaning. The museum is also free and has a small gift shop. Wonderful hidden gem - thank you!

Having checked the website for opening times we decided to take visiting friends to look at the museum as they had expressed an interest.

Bitterly disappointed to find that it was closed and no explanations as to why. Date of visit

This is a delightful museum, housed in a building of great architectural interest in its own right. Situate in the centre of town the collection in the Oliver Cromwell Museum is all in just one room. There is a great variety of items on display from coins and documents to swords and costumes. Large portraits of members of the Cromwell family, some painted by prominent artists of the day, hang from the walls - very impressive. Allow half an hour for enjoying a reasonable look at everything. Entry is free but donations are welcomed.
