Had a couple of meals here whilst on holiday in Bradford on Avon. We loved the starters and mains but our only grumble was the deserts were to sweet. But this would not stop us eating there again and they had a good cheese board and ice cream and still deserved the 5 stars. Staff were friendly polite and helpful. Mussels were excellent as was Sunday lunch.

I led a 6 mile walk from Winsley and 14 of us booked Sunday lunch here afterwards.
They were very busy (another large group in at the same time), but ordered main courses from good choice on menu, something for everyone, and didn't have to wait too long. We had roast lamb, beef with yorkshire puddings and veg and roast potatoes, hake, curry, fish and chips and nut roast, so everyone catered for. Some people enjoyed sweets too but ran out of vanilla ice cream?!
Considering they were so busy and large groups, I think they did very well. Thank you Kate and your team, especially the chef/kitchen staff. Everyone in the group praised the food. Maybe young waitresses need a little bit more training, especially when so busy.

A few mums from school decided to try this village pub out on a Friday evening, and we weren't disappointed. When we arrived it was very busy and we are glad we booked our table. We were welcomed as we approached the bar area and shown to our table as the bar was busy too so the lovely waitress took our drinks order from the table which was perfect and convenient.
We were unsure of which cider to try as they had a still very local one, so the waitress allowed us to try a couple to choose which was fab. My friend chose one and I chose the other, both very nice.
We had a lovely corner settle with a table and although it was busy we felt we had or own little space to chat and laugh without it feeling crowded.
We all chose to have a main so we could save a little room for a dessert - who doesn't love a dessert!
The menu choices all looked very nice and I decided to go with the duck breast with sweet potato dauphinoise, spinach, carrot with rhubarb and blackberry jus. It was spot on, delicious and just the right amount with a decent size piece of duck (not fatty at all which you can get some places!). I followed my main with a delicious chocolate praline delice, with salted caramel on top and a lovely homemade peanut butter and choc ice cream.
The whole experience was just excellent from the food, the waitresses, the atmosphere and the cleanliness, with lovely toilets too - It's always nice to go somewhere where the toilets are nice lot decorated and clean.
I can not wait to take my family to this very friendly pub and try out the other choices on the menu.
We took the Christmas menu home with us too and will be booking a Christmas meal here too.
A pub definitely worth trying out. *****

my wife & i popped in here on sunday evening with our kids,, firstly a proper little village boozer which was spotlessly clean & what i think a proper village pub should be &
which are rapidly dissapearing, its only pub grub but GOOD pub grub, lovely inside.
good selection of drinks, service was spot on with some charming young ladies,
the burgers, curry, buttered chicken was all excellent, when booking a table we ordered
something that wasnt on the menu which they did with no problems, this is a really nice place with simple but great food, i recomend you try !!!!

Best of both worlds, quaint and antique on the outside, comfortable and modern inside. Food was too pricey for us but looked nice.
