Great location for a parkrun. Seems a shame to charge runners to park but hey-ho. Good and interesting trail with interesting features such as the old station.

Easy walking for all levels. Can be busy negotiating cyclists etc.
Lots of parking close by.
Most of the walk is not interesting. Strictly for the after Sunday lunch crowd.

We had a good walk down a long chunk of the trail, even though it had been very wet the trail was fine to walk, some great views along the walk

This trail is very easy to walk, nice and flat so it's easy on the legs! It is however very very busy, lots of cyclists, some of which passed us at great speed! We had our dog with us which we had to keep on lead and we felt we couldn't relax and enjoy the walk as we were always looking over our shoulder for the next cyclist to avoid as they zoomed past.
The views, when you come across them are lovely but they are few and far between, you spend a lot of the trail in between banks of trees and undergrowth.
If you want a fantastic walk with some breathtaking views of the dales then try the High Peak Trail at Middleton Top, it's lovely and quiet, hardly any cyclists when we went (early March) and the scenery is beautiful.
If you're a cyclist then this trail is perfect for you, if you want a nice quiet walk with lovely views then you might want to consider a different trail.

Perhaps best done by bike this is fairly long straight trail starting Bakewell and going for about 8 miles along an old railway track the view of valley are pretty rather than dramatic your never high, particularly good are the railway tunnel you walk though which are very atmospheric.
