“Absolutely wonderful, will stay again”
Reviewed 26 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Absolutely huge property which comfortably fit 10 adults and two toddlers who loved the mezzanine with toys and spent most of their time there. Attention to detail is outstanding and the home itself is beautiful. It's the most well-equipped holiday rental we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in many here and abroad), if only others could be the same. We were lucky enough to meet Hilary, the owner, who is absolutely lovely. Yummy homemade bakewell tart on arrival. Underfloor heating was amazing! And all the details provided on the website about what exactly was provided was extremely helpful, another thing other holiday rentals should emulate. So much to do in the area as well so we would love to come back in the spring or summer. Thank you Hilary, we had a wonderful stay.

“Fabulous location and outstanding accommodation”
Reviewed 11 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Elm Tree Farm with a group of friends, 8 adults and 6 children aged between 1 and 8. On arrival, the owner had made us a large bakewell tart which was delicious! Beautiful old building with so much attention to detail with the interior. Plenty of space for us, the children had a play area with lots of toys provided.

Comfy beds, quality bed linen and towels, spotlessly clean throughout.

Not one fault, truly wonderful and we will definitely be going back.

“Fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed 31 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

From the detailed information pack sent out before we left to the post visit communication everything about Elm Tree Farm is outstanding. The house is tastefully and comfortably furnished, warm, light and is extremely well-equipped for 12 people. Attention to detail is a hallmark of this property with all the banks of lights being carefully labelled, toys on the mezzanine, night lights in the passageways and good outdoor lighting. Our hosts left us milk and a wonderful Bakewell tart. Our party ranged in age from 86 to 9 years and all say they want to come back. A few minutes walk down the road is The Jug and Glass which does good meals and great beer. Walks go from the house. What more could you want?

“Home from Home from whence to explore”
Reviewed 7 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

From the moment we opened the door, having followed the clear and accurate directions, we knew we couldn't have found a better, more well-appointed, spacious house for our celebratory weekend. It is in a superb situation, both for visitors from all parts of the country to converge (we were from Wiltshire, North Wales, North Norfolk, Yorkshire, London and Bristol) and as a place from which to explore the delights of The White Peak area.

With a delicious home-made Bakewell Tart to greet us, an extremely well-equipped kitchen with sharp knives (a first in all the time we have rented cottages!), comfy beds with crisp linen, fluffy white towels, lots of hot water, for what more could one wish?

We spent a wonderful day at Chatsworth, and another walking in the stunning countryside, cooked every night, enjoying the company of friends and family enhanced by the ambience of Elm Tree Farm and would happily have spent longer. We'll have to return to take advantage of more of the games, though our young (all in their twenties) played a couple of rounds of Twister (all in the interests of Memory Lane!) and to explore this beautiful part of Britain further. I suspect even the dogs would agree.

“Perfect for our annual get-together”
Reviewed 22 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have been staying at large houses in different parts of England for over ten years and this has been one of the best for a group of old school chums in their prime. We like to cook and there was everything we needed (except to be very picky "no bread bin"). Loads of space to relax and chat and a great table to site down to eat at. Everywhere in the house is beautifully appointed and we managed to walk from the house on both days of the weekend to interesting and delightful places - getting coffee and cake is no problem and there is the bonus of the John Smedley factory shop not so far away. Hope we can go again next year.

Thank you for such a helpful review. We started out with a bread bin but few guests used it. It has now been re-instated! Hilary
