We visited on a Sunday Evening and understandably it was busy in the restaurant, however we were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly.
The interior decor is interesting, lots of rock’n’roll memorabilia and set out like an American Diner.
Our food arrived quickly and with a good portion size. I will say that I felt the food was a bit lacking in taste, it was ok but the fries tasted like they were done in old oil and our gammon was swimming in so much grease that it put me off a fair bit of the food. I will say that the other meals coming out of the kitchen looked very nice, maybe we will go back again for a second chance.
Arrived and showed to a table after 10 minutes of waiting although the restaurant didn’t look overly busy and given the menus to look at.
15 minutes passed and a lady came to take our order, two drinks and two breakfasts.
Our food then arrived at the table, the lady saying was it just food you ordered, we said we had orders two soft drinks but were still waiting and she said oh the other lady will get those. 5 minutes later our drinks arrived.
Food was ok, there was more fat on the bacon that meat, not overly warm.
When we finished our food nobody came to collect the plates so we got up and left.
Wouldn’t return any time soon.
Part of a small chain in South West England (Route 38, Route 303, Route 5 etc..). Reasonable car park just after roundabout on A38 perhaps 5miles west of Tamar Bridge.
We arrived about 10 30 am for a late breakfast. Shown to our table. Order taken (Pancake with Maple sauce plus orange juice, American Breakfast with coffee). Food arrived after around 15 minutes. Perfectly fine, but nothing special. Rather than waitress bringing bill you go to the counter at the entrance to pay (it helps if you know your table number).
Décor I liked, photos and American memorabilia. Music was good for me hits of 60's and 70's. Only problem was maximum number of tables crammed into space meant not enough room between tables to sit comfortably.
Authentic American Diner? No...
On arrival there would be a glass of iced water and there would be unlimited refills of coffee available. Crucially the waitress would "work the table" for tips rather than just taking an order and then putting the food down on the table.
So, in my opinion average at best, others no doubt will disagree.
Have visited several times and always happy with the food. It’s not a Michelin star restaurant but it is plenty good enough if you’re after a burger or meaty lunch.
