“Fantastic family friendly gites! ”
Reviewed 30 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We stayed here for one week in late July 2017 - we, with our two children, rented La Caune while our friend and her two children rented La Crouzette (next to each other). The gites are clean, nice, well decorated, with good sized rooms. Very comfortable. The space outside is fantastic - safe, green, loads of room for kids to run around, trampoline, play house, nice gated pool with lots of pool toys, and a nice terrace area with two communal bbq's. We visited Montolieu which is not far and a gorgeous village up in the hills - full of bookshops. My husband and son went to Chateau de Saissac which they very much enjoyed. There was a wine tasting at the gites one night which was nice, good wine. The other families there all had children of a similar age (between 5-10) so it was perfect, they all played together, and Joelle the owner's daughter was excellent at organising everyone. I highly recommend this place!

“Fabulous Gites, wonderful hosts.”
Reviewed 23 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This was our second visit to the Clos de St Marie and we would happily return again. The gites are in excellent condition with everything that you could possibly need for a holiday in France. We have stayed in both le Riblou and La Caune. The pool is lovely and there is loads of room for the children to run around. However, it is the on site presence of Katie and Mike who really make this holiday special. Without being too intrusive, they make themselves available as gracious hosts. They book tables at recommended restaurants, recommend places to visit and provide you with lots of hints and tips which truely enhance the holiday. I would have no hesitation in recommending Le Clos Sainte Marie to anyone else.

“Perfect for relaxing family holiday in rural France”
Reviewed 13 August 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed in June 2016, 5 adults and 3 yound children in Le Lampy. The gite was lovely, 3 good bedrooms, and a big open plan living/dining/kitchen space. Also private space to eat outside - which was perfect at the end of the day.
With 4 other gites on site, plus our hosts it was a good balance between being quiet and relaxing, but also having some company - especially to the young ones who made new friends to play with.
Excellent provision for children - trampoline, fussball table, table-tennis, slides, swings, load of toddler toys and of course the brilliant swimming pool!
Our hosts Kate and Mike were charming and friendly - helped us out in planning how best to get to Le Clos Sainte Marie, giving great advice on which airports to use - so we flew to Toulouse and hired cars from there (an good option if flight times/routes etc. to Carcassonne aren't suitable). They also provided good local knowledge of things to do, were always on hand and even helped us out when we had problems with one of our hire cars.
Probably one of the best things was our hosts doing a run to a local bakery each morning, ensuring we were never short on baguettes, crossiants or pain au chocolate.
The local area has some fantastic castles to visit, beautiful villages (Montolieu is wonderful and has over 20 bookshops!) and is near the Canal du Midi which is great for boat trips & cycling. Nearby Carcassonne is a good visit, if touristy, and even has a beach area by a lake (which the kids loved).
We would recommend Le Clos Sainte Marie to anyone with a young family who wants a relaxing, quiet spot for a holiday - were there is plenty for the children to enjoy.

“Perfect family holiday spot”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed for 2 weeks in Crouzette with our 3 kids (6, 4, 2) and can't recommend highly enough; beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean, very well kitted out accommodation with very comfy beds and a good shower. The grounds are spectacular - private terrace at the front of the house with table and parasol, communal terrace with great views of the magnificent gardens, trees, flowers and pool area, wonderful covered outdoor couch area, games room with kids toys and games, books (for everyone) and dvds. An easy transfer from Carcassonne airport (40 mins). And, last but not least, a wonderful, warm and friendly welcome from Mike, Kate, Joelle and Callum. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they have great tips on what to do and where to eat.

There really is something for everyone in this region - castles everywhere, Cite de Carcassonne (recommend the jousting show, its v well done), Saissac (great little pizzeria for lunch), Cite de l'Espace in Toulouse (food in the restaurant was surprisingly good), market at Revel, Mirepoix, Soreze, Canal du Midi boating and cycling, walking to Carlipa, Villespy and the resevoir from the side gate of Le Clos, beautiful lunches in Montolieu (on the square), Gayda winery and Bram (L'Ile aux Oiseaux), swimming and boating on Lac du Sainte-Ferreol, winetasting at Le Clos, visiting peaceful abbeys nearby, endless fields of sunflowers and vines to watch on your drives. Lots of bbq dinners with incredible meat bought at the butcher in Alzonne. The kids always had some pals to play with back at Le Clos after a days exploring and Callum and Joelle were sorely missed on our return home.

We have done French campsites before and wanted something more spacious and luxurious but still have some friendly faces and with lots of things to explore and visit in the surrounding areas; Le Clos is perfect and ticked all the boxes.

Few practical tips; there are lots of supermarkets within a 15 min drive so supplies never a problem, the butcher in Alzonne is superb making bbq dinner's v special, bags of frozen croissants from the supermarkets are excellent if the bakery in the village is not open, wifi speed was excellent. It would be a wonderful location for a group of family / friends to rent the whole place.

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed 22 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed in Crouzette gite at Les clos Sainte Marie for 11 nights and can't recommend it highly enough. The gite and grounds were beautiful, much more spacious than the photos suggest. We are a family of 5 (3 children aged 9, 7 and 2). My parents joined us for a week in the gite next door (Caune- also beautiful!). We had rain for the first couple of days which was a shame but there was still plenty to keep us all occupied- toys, table tennis, table football, even the pool which was beautifully warm! It was sun thereafter and we had a great time both at Les clos and exploring the surrounding area- loads to do and so much we didn't get a chance to do. Kate and Mike are fantastic hosts- they go above and beyond and are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area- lots of tips on best beaches, restaurants etc. Our kids loved playing with the other children there - it all felt so safe. We would definitely go again!!
