overall was great resort to visit, foods was delicious and always hot,but the opening hours was very short, will get boring if more than 2 days, because we on full board,we can eat only one place, the buffet (breakfast launch and diner)
the room was clean and neat, and its so comfortable, the amazing view from the water villa, its really romantic place,we love the DJ night, lots of fun.
from the other view is swimming pool is too small, the staff is not friendly enough, not even heard greeting "good morning/evening"like how its use in others resorts.

Room Tip: room near by the beach and facing water villa is great.

You should stay here if:
1. You have never been to the Maldives before.
2. You are fine with customer service that is indifferent at best.
3. You can afford at least a water villa.
4. You enjoy good food, especially buffets.
5. You like water sports, indoor sports, outdoor sports, and other physical activities.

You should avoid this place completely if:
1. You are not interested to cough up the premium for water villas or higher.
2. Customer service is important.

Paradise cannot exist in isolation, just as night cannot exist without day. Same for Paradise island. If it's the first time for you to the Maldives, the natural beauty of the place will blow you away. The beaches are white, the sand is soft, and the water is a pellucid blue. If natural beauty is high on your priority list, then Paradise island comes out tops.

We returned this morning from Paradise Island, after a 3-night stay there, two of which were in the beach villas. In fact, we wanted to upgrade ourselves the next day itself, but even the reception staff were quite apathetic to the revenue they could generate with a two-night upgrade. So, we could upgrade only on the third day.

Having said that, the water villa is amazing, and the view is fantastic. Even the interior appointments are well done, and starkly different from the interior of the beach villa, which was spartan in comparison. In equal contradistinction is the customer service, with conspicuous level of difference between the beach villa and water villa. Even in overall terms, the staff are incredibly deficient in hospitality. To put things in perspective, we had a 40-min check-in and another 30-min for the luggage to arrive to our villa. And the porter evinced absolutely no apology in his apology.

The food is astonishingly varied and well prepared. We have stayed in quite a few places around the world, but never felt so light after heavy meals,- they don't add baking soda I suppose. BTW, opt for full-board, ala carte is a rip-off.

The water villas are the place to be in, especially if you enjoy snorkeling or just lazing about in the beautiful blue waters. The tides also play their part, the water behaves differently in the morning and evening. The water sports activities are exciting, especially for first-timers. And there is tennis, squash, badminton, table-tennis, snooker, basket-ball and volleyball,- if at all your intention to come to the Maldives was to indulge in these activities.

Overall, incredible natural beauty of the place, great stay if you are in the water villa, pathetic customer service (if you stay at the beach villas), poor customer service overall, and really good food.

Recommendation: If it's the first time to the Maldives, and you can afford a water villa, you should check out this resort. Else, you could be better off elsewhere.

Room Tip: Drop this place if you are NOT planning to go for water villa. Any water villa is good.

We went to the Paradise Island in beginning of March 2012. Our expectations for the resort was quite high since we hoped this was a very good resort. We got a beach villa on the southwest side of the island (harbor) where the local boats went back and forward all day long. Not so funny to have all the boat traffic all day, but much better than some friends we met there who lived on the north side of the island and was almost eaten up by mosquitos. The northwest side is a place of the island without beach an with a view to the garbage island.
The general service on the island was poor. The only places with good service on the island was the diving center and the Italian restaurant. The rest was ok if you used xx $ + 10% service + 6% tourist tax.
All that happens on the island can be signed for and paid by card the day you leave. Activities outside the island is paid in $. We brought too little cash $ and our hotel could help us to the closest ATM where they have boats several times every day, for 86 $ + 10% + 6%. So if you ever go to the Maldives, be sure that you have enough $.
Would we recommend this hotel? The answer will be negative

Room Tip: Rooms in the 120 and the 130 (new numbers from 03.03.12) series has the best location.

We had been planning long for our honeymoon. We had gone to various travel agents and tour operators before zeroing in on the destination. After months of discussion and debating we decided that the place was to be Maldives!!!
The place was decided, now the next thing on our list was to decide which operator to choose from. We decided to choose Cox and Kings. All the tour operators provide you with fairly the same package, so it makes no difference which operator you choose it from. In fact to be honest I would suggest one to book their tours themselves.
We boarded the Air India flight from Bangalore to Maldives on the 7th of December 2011. It took us about 1.30 hrs to reach Male. We made our reservation at the Paradise Island Resort. On arrival we were asked to wait for about 15 min till all the guest arrived. In the mean while we enquired about some local SIM. There were some local shops that offered SIMS just outside the airport.
After all the guest had arrived we were taken to the speed boat. It was a small and cozy speedboat. After all us had settled down, the speed boat took off for our destination. It took us about 20-25 mins to reach our Resort. I had fallen in love with the place at the very first sight. The blue waters and the white sands were breath taking.
We were soon guided to the main bar where we were asked to fill in our details.
We were soon driven to our Water villa on golf carts. The room was magnificent one with a lovely sun deck.We spent the rest of the day lazing on the sun deck and taking in the breath taking site that the place had to offer. Once dark, we stepped towards the Fagumati Restaurant. It was the sea food restaurant. At 8 in the evening everyday they would feed the sharks from this place. We were very excited to see it since we had never before seen sharks in the sea.
The next day began with a cloudy sky and a bit of rain but soon the rain gave way to a sunny morning and a bright day. Since we had booked for bed and breakfast, we had our breakfast at the Lagoon restaurant. We sat at their open air area from where we could see the blue sea and the white sands. The spread was an enormous one where we had the choice of choosing from a variety of dishes.
After finishing our breakfast we moved towards the beach. The virgin beach with pristine crystal clear water and the unspoilt natural beauty was simply more than we had expected while booking our trip. The best part of beaches were its true nature beauty, where we could enjoy various adventurous as well as fun-filled water sports like Snorkeling, swimming, diving and boating.
We spent most of the day on the beaches and in water. In the evening we went to the main bar area where one of the local bands were performing. We were pleasantly surprised to hear them sing out a famous Hindi song. Soon most of just joined them in humming the song.
The next day too was spent mostly lazing around the beaches and trying out some of the water sports that were offered. There were various options of choosing from other activities but since we had very little time left, we decided to stay on the island itself.
At the end of our 3 day tour we still felt that there were still a lot left for us to see. After picking up a few souvenirs from the gift shop at the resort we boarded our yacht back to the airport.
We had already made up our mind that we were soon to revisit is paradise destination once more.

I had been to this resort in the month of February for honeymoon. The place is mesmerizing, this is an awesome place to be in.
Stayed in Beach bunglow for 2 nights and then upgraded to water villa for a night. The experience of water villa was awesome.
Pros: Service is good. there are lots of options as far as restaurants concerned. The main restaurant bageecha dishes are nice with plenty of variety. Tried Italian restaurant over lunch and was good too. Lots of other things to do like water sports, snorkeling, gym, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, snooker etc..
Cons: Didn't encounter any.

Snorkeling trip is amazing. don't miss it. If first time, you would be exhausted.
There are some good corals at the front side of the resort besides main jetty, dont miss them.
Book a half board you will then have options for other restaurants.

Room Tip: Divide your stay between beach bunglow and Water bungalow.
