We have just returned from our third visit to this idyllic island and were not disappointed that we had chosen to return. We have stayed on other islands in the Maldives but this is by far the best one. The accommodation, food, spa, beaches and crystal clear waters were wonderful. Our beach bungalow was spotless, serviced twice a day and very well equipped. Everything has been provided, even a clothes line for your swin stuff in the outside shower area. The variety of sea creatures was amazing and we discovered a new fish every time we snorkled which we usually did twice a day. However, what makes this island so perfect is the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is so friendly. With all the food on offer the excellent gym and sports facilities are a real bonus. Hamid the sports centre manager was particularly helpful and challenged my husband to a game of snooker, table tennis and badminton. This meant I could enjoy a drink in the bar and watch the spectacular sunset. A big thank you to the resident manager, Abdulla who remembered us from our last visits. He made sure that our email requests before arriving were all organised. First class service.

Room Tip: All the rooms are equip[ped to the same high standard but the views and beaches are better in the rooms at the beach bar end of the island.

Ocean Suite is the best! Very calm, relaxing, peaceful and a beautiful view at its best! Great Music and drink at the bar! Friendly Staff and People. More fun and acitvities (watersports). The Food is ok.

Room Tip: Please make sure to stay even for 1 day in water villa or ocean suite. This is the BEST experience!

Its a great family vacation place. Airport transfer by a speed boat (20 minutes) and then you enter into the "paradise"- in a true sense. Walking from the arrival jetty to the reception is a sheer delight. Reception is fast but a tad mechanical. Depending on your Beach bungalow location, you need to walk (pleasant but may be tiring for kids and elderly) anywhere from 5- 15 minutes. Beach bungalows are clean, well equipped.

But always remember, you are in a approximate 1.8 sq.km island on Indian Ocean.. thus, never compare room and mini bar prices with a landed hotel elsewhere. Almost every thing gets imported and hence costly.

Every bungalow has access to the beach and a superb seat-out area. Such a chill out place.

Room and luggage service is very slow. Breakfast and Food (if you are on a package. Better to take a Breakfast+dinner package) are served at the central location. A mix of Indian-Thai/Chinese-Continental and Maldivian- You get a huge spread and very efficient service staffs.

Evening Discos, water sports and fish watching are such a great fun. You will come back recharged and refreshed!

Although the hotel has buggy service to transfer guests- mostly un available or drivers will give you some funny excuse! The hotel should consider keeping some bi-cycle for far off bungalow guests.

Room Tip: Choose a medium distance bungalow ( number 124- 150) could be good.

We (My wife and I) went for our honeymoon to Maldives in beginning of Nov 2013 for 4N/5D. The resort booking was done by an agent in Hyderabad, India. We were staying in beach villa no. 280. The resort is located in a pretty spacious island near to Male and the international airport. The boat ride to both the places in abt 30 mins so you don’t have to spend on sea planes. We were in for the half-boarding and found the food (breakfast and dinner) quite good and there are lots of variety in the buffet. There is Asian, Indian and continental food. Dessert is yummy.
Now some good+bad points to note from us -
1. We were in beach villa 280. It was a nice villa with sea-shore 50feet away. Room was nice and clean. Bathroom was also pretty spacious. The outer rest area was also quite comfy. Later on after strolling thru the Island we found that some rooms had swings outside their rooms. We didnt had that and we were little sad that we missed it. If you want swings too then take rooms near the sports center/restaurant/main bar (front side of the island).
Our villa was on the back side of the island so away, but walkable, from restaurants and main bar. Main bar is the place where they have all the dances and performances and this can be quite disturbing if you are an early sleeper.
2. DO NOT take beach villa from 170 to 270 (simply say NO) - the shore there is not good for swimming- full of stones at the same time these are very far from the sports center/restaurant/main bar and you might have to do lot of walking.
3. Resort provides 500ml water per guest per day (very less for a grown up adult) and every extra 1.5L bottle costs ~4 dollars. So we took nearly 10litres of water in our check-in baggage along with one 1L bottle of thumps-up and some orange juice. As water is cheap anywhere else than in an island so why to waste the check-in luggage space :)
4. Resort has a souvenir shop and the cost there is almost equal to cost of goods out in Male. So if you missed to buy something in Male you can get the same in resort, not all the stuff but all the good ones. The Airport too has a Duty free shop but the same stuff is nearly triple the price there. experience speaks.
5. The resort has a main restaurant "Bageecha" and buffet is always served there. Good Food. Service could be better. I found the servers 80% of time attending to guests from western countries like UK, USA, Australia. I had to call many a times for the servers to come and clean my table after re-filling my plates and this was quite annoying at times. Take your water to the restaurant - or anywhere else in the resort – nothing is free.
6. We found “Coffee Shop” to be not good at all. We had the worst cappuccino there. If you want coffee, then go to the Italian restaurant near the jetty dock. Same price for the coffee, but the taste and ambiance is just awesome.
7. As we were in for half-board so we used to have our lunch at the Italian restaurant. Great food, excellent service. Good Pizza, French fries, pasta etc. A MUST go !!!
8. You may find water activities a bit expensive but after all it’s in an Island. The people managing the water sports are helpful and will explain to you all the stuff in good detail. A Must – reserve your place a day-or-two before for various activities.
9. Take good sun-screen lotion. Also soap and shampoo as we fund that it was not replaced everyday after the room service.
10. Keep your valuables in the digital safety box in the room.
11. NO free Wi-Fi in the resort. It is ~4$ for an hour. Same is the internet charge in the cyber café. But the good thing abt wi-fi is that you can use the 1hr duration across the full day in smaller durations.
12. ISD call charges are ok, we called back to India couple of times and each time it was 1-2$.
13. We went for Male excursion and it was nice 4 hrs tour of the capital. Take that to visit some historical places and to buy souviniers.
14. Out of 5Days of our stay, it rained then and now for 2 days and we had to change our plans at the last minute couple of times. So be ready for any surprises. A sun outside can become shower in 5mins.
15. Personally, we found the beach villa a bit better than the water villa as you have access to the sand and then the shore line. In water villa you just directly step into water. But again, it’s a personal thing :)

Lastly, we were quite happy with our stay in Paradise Resort. Will we visit again, No, only because we would like to experience some other part of Maldives in some other resort among some other fishes and shorelines.
Have a happy stay !!!

Room Tip: If you want swings outside our beach villa then take rooms near the sports center/restaurant/main bar (front side of the island). Our villa (No-280)was on the back side of the island so away, but walkable, from restaurants and main bar. Main bar is the place where they have all the dances and performances and this can be quite disturbing if you are an early sleeper. DO NOT take beach villa from 170 to 270 (back side but opposite to ours)(simply say NO) - the shore there is not good for swimming- full of stones at the same time these are very far from the sports center/restaurant/main bar and you might have to do lot of walking. Take beach villa 270-340 - good value for money and nice view and beach. OR take any villa on the front side of the island.
