Stayed the last two Saturday nights .... The rooms look better than the G in Galway ... Food is on a par ... Great Chef Tomic ....... and the service is as good as the 4 Seasons in Dublin .... We go Kite Surfing nearby ... one of the best places in Europe for Kite Surfing; No crowds, Loads of space and the most windy place in Europe .... Ray

Such a lovely hotel. Tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. Luxurious, modern and fresh. Beds are so comfortable. Nice sized bathrooms with lovely powerful shower. Nothing was too much trouble for the accomodating staff. Stayed as part of a hen party. Service was second to none. So many little extras! Staff really went out of their way to help. Best service I have ever received in a hotel! Dinner was wonderful. Breakfast equally so. Amazing selection of local produce on the menu. Am really looking forward to going back. Can't wait to stay in a suite.
All this at an affordable rate. Have been recommending it to all I have met since I returned yesterday!

Lovely hotel in the centre of town recently done up with no expense spared and lots of attention to detail. Room was spacious with very comfy beds and nice bathroom with great shower. Liked the TV - we watched Morning Ireland each day - and also the free, easy to use Wifi. Girls at reception were quite informative about local walks which we were interested in, and places to see in the locality.
Very good breakfast and excellent evening meal. We both enjoyed our stay very much and hope to be back again in the near future.

Well what can we say, we had booked a weekend for our wedding anniversary and wanted something special. The Talbot Hotel did not disappoint. We asked to upgrade to a suite and Amy on reception showed us 4, what a very difficult choice we had, the rooms where all beautiful and the choice was finally made for room 18 (complete with it's jacuzzi bath). The first night we ate in the bar, the food was good and we got talking to Pat the barman. On our second night we made it to the restaurant for the meal offer (70 euro for 3 courses & a bottle of wine) it was gorgeous. We then made our way down to the bar for a nightcap and Pat came in to DJ, he sat with us, bought us a drink and chatted. All the staff where very friendly and we would have no hesitation in recommending The Talbot if you want to have a relaxing break or to explore the beautiful scenery. PS i've even had to buy new pillows following the experience of sleeping here!!

Room Tip: Room 18 (the black room) was very peaceful and quite, the decor is beautiful and all the little extras make it a wonderful choice
