A landmark building at the bottom of the town. One of very few monumental buildings in Mallow. It has an interesting history which can be found online. The clock house is currently undergoing a restoration which was needed since a few decades. Good job this building will be restored!

I moved to mallow over 14 years ago, and since I have lived here the scaffolding has still covered the clock house, hopefully they should be finished work on it soon as I'm looking forward to visiting it

Could be a wonderful historic piece, until the clockwork were pulled out and trashed in the bin, to be replaced by a modern electronic clock. The building looks like it will fall right into the town square. There is scaffolding up now but no work being done yet.

its a house with a clock in it. if you turn up there at any time night or day you will see the time you arrive on the clock.the clock is famous for the fact it has a big hand and a little hand, thus allowing you to distingush between the hour and minute hands. The clock house was designed by Sir Denham Orlando Jephson in 1855. its rumoured the desing came about after a conversastion between him and a resident called Paddy.Historians believe the conversastion went something like this. 'Excuse me Sir Denham,do you know the time?. i dont know Paddy,am sorry I dont have a watch. You know Paddy Mallow could do with a clock house. The house was built shortly after. To this day nearly 160 years later people look in awe at the big hand and the little hand technology that put Mallow years ahead of any town in ireland.
