Arda Na Greine means sunny view or heights and this is. So true. It is perched on a hill over looking a valley with lots of green farms and other hills. The owner Norma is an absolute gem. From the first moment you walk in the door to win you leave you feel that you are in the home of your gran. She gives you a wonderful warm welcome - we arrived after a long flight and and we were presented with team and home made scones.
She was most helpful about the surrounding area and what we could see and do. Her rooms are spotless and very comfortable. We chose one with a view of the farm and hills
In the morning she gives you a full Irish which also includes a great selections of fruit, cereals and her homemade bread .
There is a lovely warm lounge to sit it. Even though you have to drive a short while to go to Clonakilty here B+B is so worthwhile - so peaceful and quiet. But as I said the real gem is Norma who makes you so much at home

We received the warmest welcome and wished we could stay longer than one night - however I would have gained a lot of weight eating all the delicious fayre on offer if we had!
Definitely a place to return to.

This Band B is situated in the countryside with some lovely views. Norma works so hard to provide her guests with a true Irish welcome. She provides freshly brewed coffee and home made scones on arrival. The house is warm and comfortable and very clean. There is no TV in rooms but there is a TV room available. She also provides an evening meal if you wanted. We saw some great looking steak and onions going out to some guests as we were going out to a party and wished we were eating there.
We awoke to the smell of home baking.Breakfast was beautiful. Lovely fresh fruit and Juices, stewed rhubarb and a gorgeous creamy yoghurt, porridge, cereals, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, omelettes, pancakes and of course the full Irish which includes bacon, sausages, pudding, tomatoe and egg. On the table was a basket of freshly made fruit scones, fresh toast and home made brown bread with a big wedge of Irish butter.. Everything on the table was spotlessly clean.
There was also a plastic bag on the table and when I asked about this I was told that it was for us to take away some scones with us for later. What a lovely touch. Norma came in later to check that we were ok and reminded us to be sure and take away scones with us.
It was a lovely experience of an Irish welcome at its best and surpasses many a hotel in the welcome and quality of food presented.

The room was fine and comfortable, breakfasts were excellent and Norma is the most helpful and accommodating hostess you could ask for. She provided us with a great home-cooked meal on our first evening - it was like a Christmas dinner! She suggested great beaches in the area when the weather was good and also had suggestions for sightseeing and eating/drinking in Clonakilty. She was even kind enough to keep an eye on our 2 sleeping kids so my husband and I could enjoy some of the music in Clonakilty. A wonderful, wonderful stay.
