Michael Gibbons is an archaeologist and interesting and fabulous guide to the area. He used to have a walking centre in Clifden but although the centre dosnt exist anymore he still runs fabulous tours of the area. Really good value starting around 20 euro

We did not bring boots, but they were not needed for this beautifully planned, well graded walk in Connemara National Park. Well marked--basically impossible to get lost. Free parking and admission. There was a nice tea room and picnic area with a playground for kids. We loved seeing the lambs, colts and kids along the trail.

The connemara national park is just beautiful and you do not even have to walk very high up to have a nice view over the sea and the hills.
