We stayed here as we were attending a wedding. I believe that it belonged to the military back in the day,and is an old Georgian house that has been converted. On arrival, we were met by a manager who brought our bags to our rooms. This house has being decorated to extraordinary levels with exquisite sculptures everywhere both inside and out. Chandeliers that hung from the ceilings were magnificient. And then we entered our bedroom and our jaws hit the floor, literally it was breathtaking with a four poster bed and 15 foot ceilings. When we had recovered from the beauty of this, we entered our En Suite, which was about the size of most hotel rooms, a standalone bath lay in the middle of the floor and a shower with a show head that was about 30cm wide, and so tastefully decorated. I can't do justice in words to the sheer beauty of these rooms. The function room was at garden level and was stunning, with the food for quite a large wedding just so well presented and tasty, so good. The staff too were so friendly with two managers ever present should you have a need to speak to one of them. It may appear a bit pricy to stay here, but worth every penny. If I were to be a bit critical, the breakfast was a bit chaotic, and could have done with a Maitre'D. The breakfast itself is cooked to order (v good quality)and not self service as with most hotels which meant that it was fresh and just nice change to get served at your table. A menu of what's available would be a good idea too, as the waitress took our orders individually, but we weren't sure what was available. It's just a small point in an otherwise perfect stay. I would love to go back again.
I would recommend that even if you don't want to stay, call in for dinner, just to admire the beauty of this place. As far as I know, it is quite newly renovated and I am sure if you asked you might get to see the bedrooms and take a wander around the house.
It is also an ideal venue for a wedding.
4 very happy guests

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms with the four posters. It's a quiet hotel so no worries about room choice

One of the best Sunday lunches I have had. The care and attention provided from driving through the gates to receiving our (warmed) coats on leaving, was second to none. My only complaint was that I hadn't a room booked to stay the night! We felt comfortable and at ease and enjoyed every second of our time there. Cannot wait to return.

The renovation of this old house is exceptional. Nothing has been left chance. The sheer elegance and extravagance is something to behold. This is a jewel in the crown of Country houses here and abroad. The beautiful entrance, elaborate candelabras, beautiful drawing rooms with open fires and the attentive staff make this a very special place that would lift the gloomy hearts of all who enter its doors. Only a couple of kilometres west of Letterkenny the investment in this place has placed it firmly on the map. My wife and I, along with family, were treated like lords and ladies. Drinks at the open fire in the beautifully maintained and crafted drawing rooms before being taken to the dining room was the start of something special. Our food was exquisite if a little bit expensive. But this was fine dining at its best and the wine was exceptional also. My congratulations to the owners, management and staff for this beautiful and warm and hospitable retreat.

We stayed for one night. The staff, the service, the attention to detail is beyond superb. It's old with new, timeless chic whilst cosy. Highly recommend. Faultless. Outsatnding! Rooms are finely finished, exquisite tasteful decor in the Junior suite, breakfast was lovely, the evening meal was amazingly presented and divine to eat! Portions were adequate and quality was second to none.

We’ve just had a late Valentine’s dinner with our children, aged 15 and 8. Everything was amazing. The restoration of this mansion house has been simply stunning, with extraordinary chandeliers in every room.
Everything about dinner was exceptional. We sampled as much of the five course menu as we could and every dish was beautiful. Two of us don’t eat fish, so bespoke amuse bouche were created so that they wouldn’t feel left out. The service was flawless and unobtrusive, but the staff were incredibly friendly and put us at ease. It’s fantastic to find a truly luxurious and high end dining experience in this part of Donegal, we wish this place every success as we really want to make this a regular part of our lives.
Thanks for a great night.
