Myself and my friend went for lunch here today. The staff were welcoming and helpful. There was a good selection of fresh quiche, lasagne etc. The tearoom was cosy and warm and the service was quick. I had vegetarian quiche with salad and tea. Delicious!

Passed the sign for Alcorns many times and this was the first time we were able to stop.

It is very pretty inside, feels like you could be anywhere, quaint and comfortable.

We got in at the right time just as lunch was being served. Had vegetarian sausage roll with a plate of salad, ordinarily I would go for the meat sausage rolls but they only had vegetarian....surprisingly tasty and I would order it again. The salad was very fresh too.

Pot of tea for two was a bit small therefore asked for a hot water top up. The staff held our apple cake until after lunch. It was warm with two portions of fresh cream - simply perfection! If you are driving past the sign for Alcorn please please stop for coffee or lunch, I will be back that's for sure!

The food here is always delicious, especially the salads and homemade pies and quiches. And I never manage to leave without some cake, looks gorgeous and tastes even better. A shame is not open evening. Very pretty interior, but heating is not adequate in winter - bring a coat and boots.
Staff are lovely too. Highly recommended!

Hi DonegalRenate, thank you for the review , just to let you know we have recently installed a wood pellet heater and now the place is cozy . It was a big problem last year and i have to admit I was surprised at how busy we still were :-) . Thanks again hopefully next time you visit you will be comfortable . Michelle

The decor in this tearoom is just beautiful and the staff are pleasant. They offer an interesting choice of dishes and the chicken and leek pie was really good however the chicken and chorizo tart only contained two small pieces of chorizo. When we ordered a lemon drizzle slice, we waited almost 15mins for it even though it was not overly busy and there were plenty of staff. When the slice arrived, it was dry and tasteless, very disappointing.

Hi Snig21
I am disappointed that you were disappointed with your Lemon drizzle . I have asked the staff to keep an eye on the traybakes as they can dry out if stored incorrectly but they are usually fresh every day . Please mention this comment if you are in again and we can look after you .
