This Hotel may by rated 3 stars but the service is 5 star. Staff are helpful and friendly and nothing is too much bother. We had a bar snack one evening and ate in the restaurant another and both were excellent. Breakfast was also excellent. Rooms were spotless, will definately visit again.

I booked into Arnolds, having come across it on the internet. I phoned the hotel before I booked to confirm a few things, and from the start the staff impressed me. They were helpful, friendly & accommodating, and stayed that way throughout my stay. They were always helpful with suggestions, and directions. When I asked to stay on for a few extra days, they managed to manoeuvre their existing bookings so I could stay in my room.

I loved having breakfast every morning overlooking the bay. Come afternoon/ evening, after you finished your days activities, sitting in the comfy chairs by the fire while reading the papers/ a book (drink in hand) was pure luxury. Bar food was very tasty.

The bedrooms are a little dated, but they have everything you'll need and are really comfortable. Great value in comparison to some hotels out there.

The area itself has so much to offer in such a small town. Glenveagh National Park is amazing. The surf all around Dunfanaghy is perfect for both learners & experienced surfers. There are walks, mountains, beaches, horse riding, and even some really cosy cafes.

I'd definetly go back and stay in Arnolds again.

We stayed here for 3 nights over New Year. It wasn't nearly long enough. Quite frankly we didn't want to leave!
We had such a wonderful break. We escaped completely from the hustle and bustle of the workplace and our usual hectic everyday lives and were transported into another place, where time slowed down, people were courteous and log fires burned all day.
The atmosphere in the hotel was so compelling that we found it extremely hard to tear ourselves away even to embark upon the magnificent walks this area has to offer. We were tempted to spend our days curled up with a drink and a good book on the beautifully upholstered sofas or in the bar.
This is a bar you need to experience. The space itself is very well appointed, warm (no draughts), lots of comfortable seating, a proper log fire, stonework in the inglenook - where you can also sit, great paintings and photos on the walls - and its so clean. But up at the bar itself on a proper swingy-round bar stool, enjoying a cocktail, you can experience a special sense of time and place that is remarkable, as if it wouldn't be out of the question for Audrey Hepburn to flit by or for Jack Charlton to sidle up and order a pint.
Then, each morning, we breakfasted to a view of Dunfanaghy Bay with Horn Head beyond, from the Dining Room window. It was very hard to return to the hum drum of a weekday morning after that.
This is a family run hotel that maintains a standard which elevates it into a category rarely found nowadays. For a very reasonable cost we enjoyed splendid food, had a delightful room, were hugly entertained by musicians in the bar and were attended by the most friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Arnold's Hotel is a very well kept secret. Do try it !! But not too many of you. We're planning to go back ourselves quite soon and we don't want to find it completely booked out !!!

I traveled alone from New York to Arnold's for a 6 day riding tour and even before I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome. Upon arrival to picturesque Dunfanaghy, I was greeted by one of the owners of the hotel who showed me to my room. The hotel has not been updated in some time, but that is all part of the charm. The food is plentiful and delicious and the chef makes every effort to accommodate guests. Our group made a request for a dish and it appeared on the menu the very next day. The riding was spectacular, as is the dramatic surrounding landscape. Staying at Arnold's is just like visiting your favorite auntie in the country; when you leave you are well-rested, well-fed, in good cheer and wondering when you can visit next.
