Driving from Dijon, France to Montreux via Lausanne, we came upon a restaurant that exceeded our expectations. It was getting near the 1:30 cutoff for lunch in France and found it open (it was Monday and had passed a couple of small village restaurants that were not) and decided to stop.
We couldn't have been more pleased. It was exactly what we were looking for...typical mountain French cuisine at a reasonable price but excellent in quality.

The Auberge du Coude is a charming old hotel, with the lady owner taking care of your every need. The rooms are huge and comfortable. There's a nice garden with a kids playground and a sunny terrace, perfect for an evening drink.

The restaurant is not to be missed. The set menu consisted of big servings of well thought out dishes. The cheese board to scarily large and delicious.

We'll definitely stay here again.

The whole place is filled with flies, the restaurant - bedrooms,
They supply well used fly swatters to help with the infestation.
I do not expect to pay top money and spend the entire evening and night swatting flies

Bed uncomfortable, very hard, the shower is just an attachment over a very small bath tub.

If you like morrels, regional cuisine and great cheeses don't miss this Auberge manages by Mme Letoublon, she will make you the right recommandation.... Vraiment un endroit ou on se sent bien et ou l'art de la table est grandiose. Vivement la saison des Grenouilles !

Room Tip: All are nice, the ones on the lac
