The lovely, clean, light dining room made a perfect setting for a group lunch. Whitebait - perfect & crisp, nice tartare, lemon dipped in poppy seeds (attractive); beef burger with cheddar & bacon, salad, chips - should have had the chunky ones chosen by others as the skinny were not really very nice. Portion sizes variable. Sea bass & pigeon - relatively small; burger, pheasant (or was it guinea fowl?), fish & chips, whitebait - generous. Apricot and honeycombe creme brulee - tiny & in a cup. Attractive menu, good service, would return to try other dishes. Nice tea, coffee in big cups.
Large car park.

We took the family (with 2 small kids) out for lunch on this very busy day and we really enjoyed it. The service was quick and efficient. The "a la carte" menu was quite balanced and it was easy to find something suitable for everyone (there is also a kids menu). The wine list quite good and not overly expensive.
The quality of the food was very good indeed. We can certainly recommend this pleasant pub/restaurant.

Despite a mix up with our reservation we were welcomed in with minimal fuss. Good beer and really excellent selection of wine. The Sunday lunch was wonderful with a truly great selection of vegetables and followed a good selection of starters. My Stilton and mushroom soup was really tasty although others rave over the pate. Service was good and the young staff were all very attentive. Rounded off with good selection of desserts and my 8 year old grandaughter is still talking about the chocolate brownie. A big thanks from us and will certainly make a return visit.

When somewhere is recommended , the expectations are high .
Once Inside it is a different world .
Cozy sofas next to the log burner , tables for eating in the bar and a sharp restaurant .
Very well kept beers , nice wine list , menu is straight forward , starters one side , mains the other with several specials . A great welcome with nothing too much trouble and leads to a very pleasant experience .
Game on the menu , pigeon and pheasant plus game pie .
A little too much pastry on the game pie but otherwise enjoyable .
Well presented meals to go back and try different ones .

Four of us ate lunch at The Bull yesterday, we ate in the cosy bar area. The staff were efficient and friendly and the food excellent - generous sized portions, well cooked and nicely presented. I had the lambs kidneys as a main course and they were absolutely delicious.
