This new church is just about 10 minutes walk from the port. With the snowy mountain peak as a backdrop it is chocolate box picture perfect. The interior had a bright and morden feel, very welcoming.

The church was not very big, a bit dark but very cosy and charming. The boxed pews were so cute with the antlers at the side. The setting was so peaceful, definitely worth a visit.

If you land in Olden via cruise ship there are a limited number of options if you are not taking one of the frighteningly expensive excursions.
Whatever the weather the Old Church (not very old really but the original one was) is worth walking over to. Time your visit for when others aren't there. If you arrive when there's a coach party take a stroll around the back and along the road towards the new church so you can experience the old church in silence (and take better photographs).

The construction, with wooden 'nails', is wonderful and the dress style of the congregation (historical picture) is very interesting.

On your way out take a close look at the gravestones. The designs are unique and one or two have little bird figurines.

We had a lovely stroll up the road, little traffic, to this church.Set in beautiful country and
well kept grounds. Inside it is so peaceful, its the first time I've seen box pews with antlers on the doors to hang hats! well worth a visit.
