My 8-yr-old daughter and I shared a twin room the night before we flew to Canada.

It was very clean, quiet and comfortable; the staff were very helpful and friendly.

We prebooked our shuttle to Gatwick via the front desk, and it cost £5 each. The trip to the airport took about 20 minutes so it was quick and easy to get there.

The pool is in a nearby building and has odd hours on their schedule for when children are allowed to swim, so if you have kids check it out before you plan to swim - we swam anyway and no one said anything so I'm not sure how strict the "adult only" swim hours are. The changing rooms were clean and big; the towels were supplied at the pool reception for free. (The pool water itself was a bit murky but maybe that was just a one off.)

Be prepared for an expensive breakfast - only one restaurant in the hotel serves breakfast. No breakfast menu is available so you'll pay about £15 per adult for the buffet.

The wifi in the rooms is free and quite fast so for business travelers that's a bonus.

It was a bit expensive but we were very comfortable and content so in the end I'm happy we stayed at the Copthorne.

We stayed here before flying out of Gatwick on holiday. Although the price is quite reasonable when you consider it includes the cost of parking your car, it was still disappointing. This is mainly because it was simply shabby and looked unloved. We asked to change our original room on the 1st floor because it was simply too hot and the air conditioning control was broken. I am pleased to say however that this request was granted, no questions asked. In addition there was a very fishy smell coming from the restaurant.

We had friends arrive from Ireland to visit us locally we came for drinks and a meal in the bar never again felt so embarrassed. how lazy rude and abrupt bar staff could be serving customers there
Didn't seem to be any management at all they seem to do

A quick stop over in this establishment with our two young children, the price was value for money for the space you got, which was almost two rooms divided by a curtain, is in a four poster bed one side and kiddies in two single beds on the other side. Room service was quick, food was very nice as we arrived late in the day. Only thing which was to be expected as it's so close to the airport you get lots of people coming and going all times of the nite, so few doors slamming and the person above us came in a 1.30am and decided to run a bath, which was a bit annoying, but all in all good value and would stay again!

We were flying from Gatwick on Monday morning early, so stayed at this hotel the night before to make life easy. In the price of the stay the hotel will keep your car in their car park. Dropping off the car was easy, and our room was large and comfortable (though we weren't really worried about this). We decided to eat in the restaurant - not the Brasserie - and were very pleasantly surprised. Very good food, and a decent bottle of wine, at prices which were fairly high, but not ridiculous. A good evening.
When we returned to the country (10 days later) there was no problem retrieving the car. A good hotel.
