Didn't have the privilege of staying the night , just played the course . It was in great shape, very challenging. Opted for a cart but it would be a great walk. There are new owners now, doing a great job revitalizing the resort. Some great play and stay packages available right now. I'll be back and this time for the night.

Cabins and hotel at this Waterfront beach with kayaks, paddle boats, canoes, on Bras D'Or lake is spectacular. Lake is calm, not too cold if you're used to lakes in Ontario, water so clear you can see the bottom a long way out. Great place for families with small children, dog if you take a cabin, staff were very friendly and provided excellent activities for kids, including Canada Day fireworks (apologies to the dogs). I liked seeing pet dogs and chatting with neighbors in nearby cabins. Enjoyed the indoor pool, with a view of the lake too in the evening or when it was raining. Sauna is large, clean, but not hot enough if you like hot saunas. On site bar has live music a couple of nights a week, restaurant was large, clean with a nice decor and guess what a view of the lake, nice for dinner. We had a cabin so made our own breakfast and lunches. The hotel is more 'up scale' than the cabins if you prefer.

Caution, its about 30 minutes to nearest town, make sure you get gas, all your groceries, needs before you leave town. No store, supplies to buy at resort.

Roads on Cape Breton can be a challenge if you aren't used to country driving, slow down and enjoy the scenery and dont panic if you dont see a Tims for a few hours. We drove on the Cabot Trail, céili Trail, Fleur de Lis trail, and a few other trails I think following the Cape Breton KitchenFest. Had an excellent time exploring, listening to the local musicians and chatting with everyone along the way.

Cape Breton has 2 huge music festivals a year one first week of July and one over thanksgiving - over 150 venues and events - GO Fiddle and tap

Room Tip: 1 bedroom cabin is big enough for 2 adults, if you're cooking, eating in, its a bit tight

Had a lake view if I craned sideways and a little balcony. Although the end of June they were still renovating rooms and the bar was not open for a drink. Lots of CCTV with signs saying 'Smile you are on camera'. That made me think they might experience a lot of crime. Despite being the only ones in the restaurant for breakfast they still managed to get my order wrong and and service was very slow. Nice clean room and comfy bed. There was no elevator.

Dundee has a breathtaking golf course and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are large and I really like the balcony. The room was very clean. The hotel itself is very dated and the smell in the dining room is of mothballs or some sort of cleaner. The staff are friendly however the manager Ryan was drunk all afternoon and evening and was ignorant to several female guests.

Getting here from loiusbourg was quite a challenge. Our GPS took us on unmade roads... after a few kilometers we turned back. Beware if you are directed around the south coast to reach Dundee!! Our room was spacious and had a lake view. Dining room very empty.. my lobster risotto wasn't great very little lobster to be found but hubby enjoyed his fish and chips. Breakfast was to order (no buffet) ok but nothing special. Service on both occasions friendly but very slow. (Hate to think what it would be like if they were busy)
