My mom wanted to join me in an adventurous trip so i planned a trip to stay at Gopeng Rainforest Resort. We planned for 3D2N at the resort, with White Water Rafting and Cave Trekking.

Firstly, i was very happy that the email replies from David were very prompt. He made sure that the bus ticket that went to Gopeng was correct and gave clear instructions on where i should wait for him when arrived. Upon arrival, they brought us to have a good dim sum breakfast. During conversations, they found out that we were Christians and brought us to visit their church! Christ Church Ipoh is welcoming and homely.

During our stay, we met a local friend, Eleanor, who did the activities with us. It was enjoyable having an extra friend that was about my mother's age. They clicked very well and she too, enjoyed the stay there. Aunty Janice (wife of David), prepared a range of delicious dishes for us to enjoy before and after our activities. Even the kaya spread was homemade! In the nights, it was cooling even without air-con, with birds chirping! Back to nature, what we wanted since we were from Singapore, a busy city.

Activities were very fun, the Riverbug guide was fun to be with! During cave trekking, Aunty Janice and Uncle David explained how the structures in the caves are formed and made sure our safety was covered. Their son, Daniel, led us in the cave trekking too!

Aunty Janice was very sincere and even helped us to look at our hostel which we were going to stay after the 3days with them. Knowing that we were females, they advised us to stay at somewhere safer. We booked a new hotel and she drove us down. Before alighting us, she told us where to visit in Ipoh and also drove us around the old and new town to show us whereabouts to have good food and things to see!

The stay was more than fantastic, more than what i have expected. Thank God for this opportunity to have met Uncle David, Aunty Janice, Daniel and our new friend, Eleanor.

2nd time visitation to this cozy, nature resort. What they offer ranging from accommodation with food to outdoor activities are just simply irresistible. Strongly recommending their white water rafting and caving to be the best. What i do like about this resort is that they offer reasonable price compared to the others. Not to mention the food cooked by the resort owner Janice is superb tasty. This is a place i would reckon you all who are eager to get away from the hustle bustle of the city to come. Would definitely come again!

We were a group of 4 friends, looking for some adventure and wanting to get away from the touristy areas. David offered a customized package programme for which included, a night trek, cave exploration and river trekking. Plans were extremely flexible according to our liking.
Homecook meals were provided and the natural cooling mountainous weather made the stay perfect.

Brought my team for weekend offsite last 12 December 2015 to this resort. we had a mix of dorm style accommodation and tents for the more adventurous type. The place was great, clean and well kept. The owners were welcoming and was accommodating our us and hosted the team from various countries in APAC and for some this was their first time experiencing the Malaysian outdoors. We joined the hiking excursion which was followed by a well deserved deep in the cool waterfall located approximately 3kms from the resort. The hiking was great and tough for some due to the heavy downpour earlier, but it was a great experience for all especially for those first timers.

Food was inclusive and all our meals were well prepared and delicious. Although it was raining for quite a bit, but the experience there was great and worth thinking about another plan to spend a weekend there again.

Room tip: go for the camping experience as the resort provides tents.

We had a great time staying with David and Janice. They were wonderful and really knowledgeable hosts who loved to share this with us. The food was exceptional and very malaysian with lots of variety. The activities were super. We really loved the White water rafting, caving and trip to the local tribal villages. The accommodation was basic but comfortable. We would love to go again.

Thank you
The Hart Family.
