“Unbeatable views in a perfect traditonal house.”
Reviewed 31 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We were met in Benitses on our arrival and Anna showed us round the house and explained everything we needed to know. The house was ideal for us - every facility we needed and so comfortable.

The view from the top terrace is unbeatable - through the olive groves on the slopes of the mountain down to the sea, across to the Greek mainland and coast of Albania with Corfu town thrown in the distance too - it just doesn't get any better. It was especially lovely at night sitting with wine and watching the twinkling lights, we got to know the boats and their timings. We could also watch the planes landing and taking off at Corfu airport in the distance, which my partner particularly enjoyed.
Having two outdoor areas was a bonus too - one in the shade and one in the sun. The upper balcony got full sun from morning until about 4.30pm and was spacious enough for us to lie there all day if we wanted too, which we did several times! It is completely private - there is a narrow road at the back of the house but no-one can see onto the terrace as the trees and planting covers it so well, so you can easily sunbathe in privacy. The lower terrace was surrounded by beautiful planting, as a gardener it was a feast for my eyes and that's where we dined every night as it's just off the kitchen too. There is also an outside wet room which was a real treat, we actually used it as our main shower every day as it has a opening window looking out over the spectacular view down to the coast.
An added bonus was the addition of nets across the windows - why doesn't everyone do this? It meant that the house was 100% insect free, no mosquitos whining in your ears at night! Although there is air conditioning too and also a couple of fans - more than enough to keep you cool and we slept soundly every night, even though the temperatures were reaching 40 degrees cooling down to a meagre 27 at night for the whole fortnight we were there! Anna had even arranged for a special orthapaedic neck pillow for my partner, otherwise he would have had severe problems, which really put our minds at rest.
The next door neighbours were also very friendly and gave us a lot of information about the village and the Greek way of life. Their lovely cat Mr. Ginger visited us every day which, as cat lovers, we really enjoyed.
We would definitely recommend hiring a car as Corfu is so easily explored, and the house is in a very central location to do this, you can reach either end of the island easily within an hour or so. Corfu town is stunning, easily one of the most charming and beautiful places we have ever visited, and less than half an hour away. A night time visit is a must - all of the cafes and shops are open and lit up, it's very relaxed and laid back with so much to see.
There was some noise from the road behind the house during the day but it didn't disturb us at night at all. It was interesting to see local vegetable and poultry sellers driving up through the village - real Greek life that you don't see in a resort. This was exactly what we came for and we got it in bucketfuls.

We also did a bit of Durrell hunting as we are big fans, and the house is ideally located for the area. The White House at Kalami and the bay at Kouloura were my favourites, both stunning locations, and the beautiful house used in the STV production "The Durrells" is near Corfu town - all within half an hours drive. If you have read the books you can just imagine being there with Gerald Durrell. No wonder he fell in love with the place. We did too, thank you so much Anna!

“It's a wonderful place”
Reviewed 6 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I had great time . I recommend this place for people who wants to be quiet during the stay in the house and close to the beach and to the all facilities (supermarket, pharmacy, cafe, restaurant, clubs and etc.) The house in Ag. Marcos is beautiful, better than I expected. The view from veranda is fantastic, close to the house, there is taverna with the name Panaroma. It is close to the beach Ipsos in the quiet green place. I was not far from supermarket AB, from different cafe, restaurant. It has everything you need for good vacation. It is clean. It has traditional furniture, kitchen is fully equipped and there are 2 small bathrooms. I could relax there on the veranda and then in 2 min I could be on the beach and in the evening in one of the restaurant and clubs.
