We were pleasantly surprised when arriving early to find that our table was ready. Table for two right by the route to the kitchen, which would normally be fine except when there is a loose floor board and every step on it moves your seat ever so slightly!
We ordered drinks, gin and slim line tonic and still water. We got gin and normal tonic and sparkling water.
Soup which was fairly bland but hot followed by roast pork for me and roast beef for my good lady. If you like your food overpowered by the taste of what I assume was fennel then you will love this. If you don’t, you won’t and I don’t. Even the oversized Yorkshire pudding couldn’t compensate.
Did not have a pudding. We are unlikely to return

Food is excellent and very variable, the staff are very friendly, chatty and helpful, the restaurant is great with different types of tables to choose from. Also a garden to sit in if its hot or the children was to play.

We were bought a hefty voucher for the Kings Head so it would be churlish to criticise anything about this place but I have no reservations in recommending this lovely little pub.
The pub itself is of the gutted, previously characterful village Inn, but now "shabby chiced up£type of place - old mirrors in lime washed frames etc...if you know what I mean. It doesn't matter where you are in North Norfolk these days you'll be lucky to find one that isn't like this.

HOWEVER to complain too much about this would be like moaning about the sound of a ticking clock in a Bentley. The staff here from the manageress to the waiting staff are fantastic. Chatty, funny and efficient too. They even laughed at my jokes!

The food we had was superb and not too pricey. We also had a very good bottle of Bordeaux. Service is very much along the lines of local village girls - but non the worse for that - no hand wringing in this place.

Although we stayed the night we didn't have the chance to check out the village at all which is a shame. The Kings Head is owned by the same company as the White Horse at Brancaster Staithe and one can see that although, to my mind, this place is worth 10 of The White Horse. We loved it and will return soon.

Visited on a chilly Saturday afternoon, we were hungry after a long walk at nearby Sheringham Park and were hoping they’d squeeze us in for lunch. Although they were still busy from lunch they had a few tables in the bar still and although they could only offer a limited menu due to the time of day we happily stayed. We both ordered the Scampi and chips, this was enjoyed by us both...particularly the home cut chips which were perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. We then shared a bowl of Apply and Blackberry crumble with custard, this was lovely and warming on a cold afternoon. We had a lovely visit here, price was reasonable, food was great and service attentive. Can’t wait to return. Added photos...one of our very empty bowl of dessert!

family lunch 3 adults and one 3 year old child, food ok in parts but to charge a 3year old 3.50 for a few carrots, which had something like star anise on them, not suitable for children and omit the peas that went with her sausage lunch was dreadful, we then had desserts which basically were a scoop or two of ice cream/sorbet in a glass with nothing else was even worse, surely a wafer/biscuit or decoration of some type was possible. I think the staff were on an off day as a visit to the toilet revealed dirty toilet seat,no hand wash or toilet paper. The bill was nearly £70 what a rip off. Have been to lunch before which was lovely.A total disgrace
