This was our second stay at this lovely guest house. John was, as before very friendly and helpful. Rooms are huge and comfortable.
Breakfast is excellent, as was the banter about the footie!!
Would not hesitate to stay again, would be nice to stay in the spring/summer as our away matches always seem to be in January!
Great value for money

This place deserves every one of the excellent reviews on here. John is a fantastic host and cannot do enough for you. The rooms are clean the " sea views' are fantastic. From between the greeting to the goodbye nothing is too much trouble . The breakfast is still one of the best I have had.

We stayed one night for Halloween while attending a Halloween party at the Stadium of Light.

Ground floor room was clean & tidy, decent size with a fabulous view across the sea.

Really nice shower which seemed fairly new, comfortable bed.

Great breakfast - decent portion and very well cooked. Perfect for the 'morning after'.

Like other reviewers I have to make special mention of the landlord, John. He couldn't be more helpful or friendlier, great bloke with a cracking sense of humour.

We asked about Taxis and instead of ordering a Taxi, he drove us up to the Stadium himself, not many hotel owners would do that for you!

There was a very elderly couple in the room across from us, and every time they left/came back he was there to help them up the stairs and inside.

The hotel itself may only be 2 stars, but I rate it 5 stars for service & friendliness.

Great room, great service and also great price (£55 for two in a double room inc full English breakfast)

They are also pet friendly.

Any time we need to stay in the area again, this will be our first choice. Highly recommended!!
