Went Easter Sunday for a few after we heard the pub had won Camra pub of the year and we weren’t disappointed. What an atmosphere! Great selection of ales, my favourite Plum Porter was on draught and after some of that I opted for a 6% leprechaun stout which took me a while to drink. Lovely clean women’s toilets, lots to look at in the busy bar area which was great. Loads of hustle and bustle and just a brilliant pub. Can’t wait to come back.

I was only planning on having two pints here but stayed for a third because the real ale was in very good condition and excellent value for money. Apart from going to a Wetherspoon's I can't remember the last time I paid less than £9 for three pints!

I had the Titanic "Cherry Dark", Melwood "Fools Gold" and Blue Bee "Tempest Stout" and they were all spot on. The staff are very hospitable too which you would expect from the National Pub of the Year.

This pub is well worth a visit if you ever find yourself in St Helens.

I was invited to the Cricketers Arms for a special event - the national CAMRA Pub of the Year award. This was the first ever Merseyside pub to win the award. What a wonderful day!

Went here on 30 December 17 with friends for the evening. I was really surprised at the size of the pub as I lived near here on early 60s as a kid. It had 2 rooms best side, games room my dad and grandad played darts and some here then.
Had a really great evening here with friends they have plenty of space inside and outside with different areas smoking area and a garden area if you don't smoke. Large screen tv's to watch football etch. Landlord was very friendly which is a bonus these days as some you never see in their pubs, also staff was friendly will definitely be back there again.

Andy and his staff do a great job bringing some of the best cask beers in the region to St Helens! He usually has a minimum of 12 beers on!
Great crowd, chatty and friendly!
No contest, best pub in the area!
