For cheap, clean accommodation with free WiFi and a good breakfast you can't go wrong with the Danhostel in Flintebakken.
We booked online on their website which is bilingual in Danish and English, it was a twin bed room, with linen (it's the youth hostel model) and breakfast.
It's situated on the inlet so with a room to the rear you've got a view of trees, grass, water, wildlife (moles) and sky out of the room window (the rooms at the front overlook the car park).
There's good car parking (although at this time of year ours was the only car in the car park).
Breakfast was the usual continental style: coffee/tea from a jug, cereals, bread, ham, cheese, pancakes, yoghurt from a self service buffet.
There was also a guest kitchen with kettle, coffee maker, three sinks/double hobs, two ovens, one microwave (slightly low wattage), fridge / freezer. There were a number of plastic boxes that could be labelled with name, room number and departure date.
Flintebakken is slightly away from the main downtown area of Horsens, about a 15-20 minute walk (or five minutes in the car), but that added to the experience for us, there was no noise and being at the bottom of a cul-de-sac there was no traffic apart from the occasional service bus (which we could have used to get to the town).
The three main museums (Horsens Historical Museum, Horsens Art Museum and Horsens Industrial Museum) were within easy walking distance (again about 15-20 minutes). The prison museum is the same distance in the other direction (but it is closed until 20th May). The hostel is also five minutes from the Casa Arena (football / sports stadium).
With a kitchen and a branch of Netto, Aldi, Lidl or Spar nearby we were able to buy everything we needed for a self-catering evening meal each night. The nearest restaurant is a McDonalds at the top of Flintebakken.
I'd recommend this for the budget traveller, you won't be disappointed.
