We arrived for our weeks holiday late evening. We booked in at reception with ease. When we arrived at our room we found a cold meal waiting for us. (Sandwich etc). This was much appreciated and was very good. We had a look around and found the bar. The following morning was glorious sunshine with a view over the lake. Breakfast was good, mainly cereals, bread, eggs etc. I cannot have gluten and was provided with gluten free bread rolls, crackers and cake. Evening meals were OK but due to me being a gluten free vegetarian it was a little difficult to find something varied to eat. Mainly I had salads. The staff at the Cristina tried to be helpful though. The hotel was kept very clean and tidy. Our room was cleaned daily and fresh snow white towels provided (how do they stay so white). The hotel was not over busy so was very peaceful. The pools were lovely and sunbeds easily aquired. This hotel is in a beautiful location but is high up so people with walking disabilities would have a problem getting down to Limone. Of course they have a courtesy bus. We did not use this so not sure how often it comes and goes. Although it looked a long walk down to the lake it only took 10 minutes due to little walkways that you could cut through. Lots of steps though. We were certainly a lot fitter when we left after doing this daily. At the back of the hotel after a short climb is a lovely bar/restaurant that is well worth a visit. The only thing that we were dissapointed with was the fridge in the room. It was stocked with beer, wine, soft drinks and small bottles of water. If you use them you are charged which is fine, but the small bottles of water were priced at 2 euros each. If you called at the shop in limone you could get a large bottle for 1.50 euros. Also you couldn't get anything of your own in the fridge. I know this is a small complaint but because the bottles of water were small and highly inflated in price it was annoying. Having said that I would definitely visit this hotel again. Nothing fancy but very pleasing. More
