Having lived in Malta I was not aware of this place. The location is very central but quiet. The rooms are big and clean, for today's standards cheap. You have a kitchenette to prepare your own breakfast as the restaurant is unfortunately closed. The pool area is quite big and well kept. It is the only one place in Malta where I woke up because of the noise of the birds.

This hotel was probably amazing in the 70's. Unfortunately it is in need of modernising. Apart from this, I couldn't really fault it. There was plenty of parking, it was clean and comfortable. Clear instructions were given to us for transport links and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

I feel like previous reviews have been unfairly exaggerated. It was very cheap and I certainly had value for money.

The hotel is situated in a dark neighbourhood where there is nothing to do. The rooms were very dirty and full of cackroaches and little animals in the beds we all got scabies. Also we were the only one who stayed in the hotel it was very lonely. Also you can't eat in the hotel or neighbourhood...

My Dad and I stayed 2 nights each. Our rooms were absolutely disgusting- mine stank of mould and both rooms were absolutely boiling hot- the fans are very old and there is no air con.

Beds were absolutely awful too- they must be ancient. No cushioning/ mattress to speak of- just like sleeping on a bed of rusty springs. Both of our showers leaked (a ridge around outside of the bath meant water pooled into here and then straight on to the floor). Not only was this disgusting, it also was really slippery and hazardous!

My bedroom area was carpeted and lead in to the bathroom- it was no wonder to me that the room was so damp and mouldy as the water was pouring onto the carpet. Mouldy walls and everything in the rooms generally was just SO old, run down and disgusting.

We were told we needed to pre-order breakfast the first morning when we went to reception so we had to go without (we arrived late the night before and were not told this). Next morning we called at 8am and asked to order breakfast, they told us that it was a bank holiday so were not providing breakfast (again- we were not pre-warned about this) Amusingl/annoyingly the man on reception acted as if it were the most ridiculous request he had ever heard when we asked!

Also- a disused well outside of our rooms meant it was impossible to sit outside in the evenings due to THOUSANDS of mosquitos. It was a breeding pit for them! This meant we had to stay in the mouldy, smelly rooms as there is not even a bar to go to in the evenings.

This place urgently needs modernising- stay anywhere but here until they sort it out!

Room Tip: Never go here!!!!!!

This place would have once been a lovely resort. Unfortunately it has been left to run down to the extent that it is dirty, tired and needs a major renovation. We moved rooms twice before we got a half-decent room. But really, the standard overall was very poor. Thank goodness for one manager who had empathy for us and "upgraded" us. We would not stay here again unless they do a complete makeover, and that includes some of the staff. Don't be fooled by the photos on the booking sites, they don't represent the true picture today. They must have been taken a long time ago when the property was new.
