One week in Hilton Villamoura.
We were 2 familes and had booked double rooms. The rooms are realy big: rather appartements with 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living room. Nice terras also with view on the pool (the other family had golf course view: also nice.

We received upon check-in a voucher for a bottle of wine (rather bad housewine, but OK).
The hotel has 6 swimming pools, in 5 of which the children can swim and play as much as they want! one pool is completely in the shadow in case you had enough Portuguese sun. There is not really a good pool for who wants to swim lanes, but that was not our goal.

There are 3 restaurants and a (snack)bar, but it’s a pity that the best of these restaurants is closed during summer (?). So almost daily to that buffet gets boring. Lukily, we booked one dinner at the good Michelin starred restaurant Willie’s around the corner!

This hotel is OK for one week with the children, but brings not a wow experience. Except maybe for the excellent wellness.

Improvement point: get a good coffee machine in the breakfast restaurant.

Dear Guest,

We are thrilled you enjoyed the resort's beautiful surroundings and thank you for acknowledging our wellness and family friendly facilities.

In order to reassure other guests, the Aquarela steakhouse is open in the evenings serving a la carte for those who don't want the dinner buffet.

We appreciate your review and hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Kind regards,

Dinis Pires

Spent 5 days at the Hilton Vilamoura to wrap up a family trip to Portugal. It's not a massive or sprawling resort, so everything felt close by - restaurants, pools, and other amenities. There was a free shuttle to the marina area for dining and shopping with another stop at the beach - neither are far away and we walked it one evening, with an option to rent bikes with pickup and drop-off locations along the way. The resort has a private area of the beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas along with a bar and restaurant that you can use and charge to the room. Didn't have a problem getting chairs before noon, but they start to fill up after that before emptying out again midday. The hotel has multiple pools and none ever felt over crowded, but it was tough to find chairs together at any of them by noon, although they did open up again later in the day which was perfect after spending the first half of the day at the beach. Definitely a kid-friendly resort with plenty of floats and toys in the main pool, but there is an adults-only pool that is fairly secluded.
Our room was a nice pool view with an extra bed brought it. Clean and comfortable.
The breakfast buffet (comped for HH Gold+) provided a good selection and there are some good restaurant options for lunch and dinner onsite. Prices for beer and wine seemed reasonable, but one could run up a pretty hefty bar tab if you're not careful, as cocktails and frozen drinks were quite a bit more. There are also several markets nearby, which came in handy.
The marina area was touristy with some decent but pricey restaurants - check with the hotel staff about reservations at some of the nicer places. Still not a bad place for an evening walk. Shuttles back and forth to the resort run every 30 minutes at night, but a cab can make the trip for about 5 euros if you mistime it or don’t feel like waiting.
We had a rental car which came in handy for day trips to some beautiful nearby beaches (Barril Beach near Tavira with a

Really good hotel currently writing on our last day and have had a great stay. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. the food at the restaurants and buffet is delicious and the pools and gym are great too. the location is excellent with a 5 minute drive by the shuttle bus (which runs every hour and after 7:00 every half and hour) to the marina and a 10 minute drive to a marvellous beach. the staff are nice and are playful amongst kids which is also another reason why its 5-star. my two sons and i (aged 11 and 6) are leaving today and will miss it. i highly recommend this hotel especially to families with kids.

Stayed as a family with 2 adults and three children. Stayed for 3 nights B&B costing £600 per night. Was a bit disappointed (given how much we paid for the room) that they wanted 20euro off me to visit the spa. The food was very good and costs 32euro per adult and 16euro per child. Drinks and food for three days (one night we ate out) came to another 600euro. The room was a 2 bed apartment and was very comfortable and spacious with a full kitchen if you wanted to cook and eat in or order room service to the room. The room was not ready when we arrived at 4.00PM so had to wait for an hour until it had been cleaned so that wasn't the best start. Overall we did enjoy the hotel but the price overall was high.
