Stayed here with small group of friends (3 mature couples)mid june on first night of our 2 week motorbike tour of europe. Very friendy owner (for 22 years) who is english and speaks many other languages fluently. Bikes locked in large garage for 5 euros each. Rooms were large, beds comfy, nice clean bathroom. Hotel next to road but at night there was no traffic so slept well. We had a set meal for an additional cost ( very reasonable at about 15 euros) which was superb. Local produce and 3 courses cooked by the owners husband. Several local beers available and good wine list. Hotel is in lovely wooded setting a few miles from bouiliion with nice gardens and plenty of stuff to do locally, walking, cycling etc. Top tip...if you use sat nav with address and postcode travelling from bouillion direction you will end up at a small track with no hotel. Ignore this and keep on main road for about 400 metres around the bend....and that is the hotel!!! We will definately stay here again, very highly recommended.

Room Tip: all rooms good. We were at rear of hotel so had no road noise although friends at front said they slept well

We have stayed with Chrissy and Bart on many occasions and we are never disappointed..Bart is a fantastic chef and the food here is some of the best we've have had anywhere. Fantastic range of Belgium beers and good wines to choose from Chrissy is a fab hostess and welcomes everyone with open arms and a smile. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. This place has so much to offer as its placed in such a beautiful part of Belgium. It really is like home from home.

Room Tip: Always book to eat you won't be dissapointed

Our 4th visit in a year and second in the last month so this must indicate the esteem we hold du Cerf. A contentious view in the past has been the best food in the world is French and the best French food is in Belgium - a new spin on this is maybe the best food in the world is Belgian and the best Belgian food is at du Cerf. Bart's creative cuisine plays with the foodie, an absolute delight whether game, fish or meat - all with specially prepared vegetables. Then.... Chrissies wonderful attention to detail and influence on the refurbishments and extensions, a pleasant and appreciated departure from many places we stay. Wonderful surroundings set off a special stay - problem is we often don't stay long enough, although we have been known to divert over 4 hours just to stay a night and experience the food and company. Demi-pension is the way to go in one of the refurbished rooms. The breakfast is also superb, a good selection of fresh local food presented perfectly.

Room Tip: Go for a refurbished room only because they have been done so tastefully.

To stay at the Hostellerie du Cerf is like having a new home. You enjoy the excellent hospitality of the owners and the perfectly maintained surroundings. Signing up for the the demi-pension is highly recommended as you will have the opportunity to experience both the sumptuous breakfast and the fabulous dinner.

Located close to the multiple attractions of the area you can go on nice hikes, visit monasteries producing cheese and wine or trace the multiple tracks of historical events.

An additional plus is the excellent language skills of the hosts, which might be a benefit for those travelers preferring to stick to their mother-tongue.

We look very much forward to going there again.

The best place to be when traveling to the Bouillon area. Hostellerie Du Cerf is located outside the city and right in the middle of the beautiful and impressive rural countryside of the Belgian Ardennes. I am a frequent visitor always returning for the great/superb food creations from Bart and the great personal welcome and service provided by Chrissy. Every time it is a sort of homecoming. The whole atmosphere created by Bart & Crissy makes all guest feel relaxed. Restaurant, rooms and garden are well kept and clean. Stay an weekend (or longer) and you will feel reborn.

Room Tip: Rooms on the garden side are quieter
