Directions to gite were spot on. The house itself was a typical old French farmhouse - lovely stonework, tiled floors etc, slightly dodgy electrics, lighting not great - everything you expect in an old French house! The kitchen had more utensils than even the most adventurous cook could want - plenty of crockery, knives, glasses, pots and pans etc which is quite unusual from past experience. All the beds were made up on our arrival and it was all clean and tidy, the lack of wi-fi was a bit of a concern for the children but they soon found the ping pong table and board games.
The nearby town of Avranches has free wi-fi at the tourist office and plenty of bars and cafes. We found a lovely small restaurant called Jo Jo's where we had a super dinner one evening for a very reasonable cost. The local beaches are varied - some sandy, some with rock pools - ideal for all ages. Le Mont St Michel was no more than a 20 minute drive away but,as was to be expected, was very busy.
All in all a lovely holiday - thank you very much Anita.
