Local village pub with book club, games and friendly atmosphere. Really good pub food. Service good too. Plenty of parking.

the service here was really good - but the food was average, and the toilet facilities were poor, at least the ladies were. [cannot comment on the gents, ] They were clean, but cramped, and there was no provision at all for a disabled or even just a 'less able' diner to visit the toilet, which is a problem.
I understand that provision of a disabled toilet is expensive, and if you have a listed building, difficult, but with a bit of planning and thought it is possible to make improvements. Even just putting a handrail/grab-rail in would help, [and also fixing what appeared to be a small leak, and fixing the bolts on the doors so that they would lock would be a step in the right direction.] I was part of a group of 15, and it is unlikely that we we return.
The waiting staff did a really good job - shame they were let down by the rest.

Pre booked for a Sat evening. ..Pub very busy. Food excellent...the "special " pie was tasty and well cooked. The selection of veg was seasonal and well cooked .. nice atmosphere..busy but service was good. Always consistently good. Reasonably priced.

Personally i think their is more atmosphere in the bar area than the restaurant area

Table for four booked and turned up to this lovely public house that we had visited before. Very busy which is always a good sign so booking is recommended especially at weekends. Ordered drinks at the bar, beer very well kept and told our table was ready. Seated and immediately furnished with menu's. Selected the pate for starters and the Salmon Fillet, not very long to wait, more drinks, splendid service. Others in the party had various starters and two had steak and one lamb. Food was delicious throughout, more drinks, efficient service and excellent customer service from the young waiting staff. Highly recommended.

Won't be going here again, waited 50 mins even though we had booked for a poor meal - aunt Bessie's Yorkshires, rock hard veggies and roast potatoes that would crack glass if you chucked them! Terrible, a shame as had nice meals here before.
