“Great woodsy campground!”

One of, if not, the nicest larger provincial campsites in B.C.
Best times are late spring or early summer as the forest is so fresh and green. Quiet also. Private, clean campsites.

Nice park, well paved throughout and good campground. We had been told there was good hiking in the park, but found the trails to be pretty basic (most of the trail is along the park fence with barbed wire, giving it a bit of a prison feel). Nice swimming to be had, but poor access to water sports and no good signage to rent watercraft. Once we did find a place, the steep price of $100 for four hours in one kayak talked us out of it quite quickly. I hear the island nearby (Copper Island) has some better hiking on offer, but due to the restrictive price of watercraft, we never made it over.

Large sites, large trees, space between neighbors, super valu grocery store close by, rocky beach, playground, laundry mat nearby, also store at campground, learn to fish program on select days for kids 5-15 years, free showers. This is a busy campground and you need to book far in advance. I'd have to say showers were average as far as clean but this is a large campground. Showers need to have a curtain between the shower and the little bench where you change so your clothes can stay dry. No way to dry your hands in bathrooms. I never understood why this is. Great place to ride a bike around.

This is a nice park with short trails along the beach. Many treed picnic tables by the lake. Nice views of surrounding mountains and Copper island. Beach is sunny in the morning and early afternoon. Shady by dinner. Water is swimmable. Lots of boat activity beyond the ropes.

Good quality dog beach by boat launch.

The campground is decently treed and has spacious sites with fire pits and tables. Road is paved. Flush toilets and a few showers.

We saw deer a few times while walking in the campground. They were undisturbed by people who stopped 10 feet away to take a photo.

Bear aware camping.

A nice place for families. After the beach, kids kept busy on bikes.

Robert Haig-Brown park near by had a nice 2km trail to a gorge on Adams River. Water warm enough to wade in. Watch for strong current further out.

Love this campground and have been coming here for over 30 years. Busy all summer but worth the reservation craziness to get a spot!
