This was our 2nd visit to the Byre and it was just as perfect as our first visit. The little touches like the hot water bottles and the log burner and of course the hamper with the amazingly lemon drizzle cake and homemade bread was fantastic.
So cosy and relaxing you never want to leave. Everytime we visit we just want to stay there lomger each time.
Michelle and Steve's hard work has truly payed off, a lovely couple who should be so proud of what you acheived and a massive thank you for sharing the byre with us all.
We will be back soon.

Our stay at the Byre was truly magical. Just minutes away from several charming villages, the Byre is a secluded pastoral haven.
Michele and Steve were gracious hosts who left the Byre well appointed for our late night arrival. The kitchen was stocked with goodies -- local bacon, butter, eggs, and more. We will treasure the memory of our mornings spent sipping coffee while overlooking the beautiful rolling hills that were freckled with sheep and horses, munching on homemade jam and bread, and flipping through photos capturing the building of the Byre.
We cannot wait to visit again for a longer stay!
The Byre is without doubt the best UK self catering countryside accommodation we have ever stayed in, it is simply perfect. Spacious for a couple, with a beautiful, cosy lounge, exposed stone, beams, Welsh wool throws and a crackling wood burner, worthy of a Country Living magazine feature.
There is also a fab conservatory with views over the picturesque valley and forests, and if you're going in summer there's a large outside dining area overlooking the view too.
Steve and Michele really were the hosts with the most! Steve's homemade bread is delicious and Michele's lemon drizzle cake is mouthwatering. Good job there is a great walk up the valley to the moors called the Begwins (pronounced Begins, thanks for putting us right Michele. Bet you were a great teacher! ), with spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.
The Byre has been lovingly and tastefully converted from old farm buildings and has everything you need, a very well equipped kitchen, special little touches and a most comfortable bed.
Book it, you won't go wrong here.
We stayed here for a night early in December and wished we could have stayed for longer. The owners converted the building and this has been done so well with real attention to detail, comfort and style. We received a warm welcome from Michele who had made bread and cakes for us! Tea, coffee, fresh eggs, milk and bacon were also on offer. Such a lovely touch! There is a log burner which is perfect for winter evenings, a perfect view and easy access to the natural beauty of the area. We will definitely be returning!
The location is perfect if you want some solitude but also the option of venturing to busier places. This is our second year on the run visiting this quaint and beautiful place. So friendly and welcoming. We will be coming back next year!
