Overall an excellent trip. The food was much better than expected, although we thought the OKA sushi restaurant was better than the Thai or Italian (which were also great). They had no problem accommodating one of the kids with a severe peanut allergy. The 1 bedroom suites (in Villa 17) were very nice and the hotel was able to put all four families close together. Kids enjoyed the beach and the pools, and a few stints in the kids club.
A few things I think could be improved:
- The pull-out sofa-beds in the rooms are pretty bad. They don't lay flat (slightly inclined) and the mattresses are terrible. We had an extra single bed delivered and it was much more comfortable.
- They need a better way to manage the poolside seating. They say it's a first-come first-serve system and all the pool loungers get 'reserved' (someone leaves a towel on them) early in the morning. We got pretty frustrated at having nowhere to sit even though all the loungers were not in use, often for more than half the day. We had several incidents where people would show up out of the blue and demand we leave our loungers because they had 'reserved' them earlier (even though they appeared empty and had no towel on them).
- Not a big deal, but didn't appreciate the several attempts at selling timeshares etc.More
