Don't get us wrong, we absolutely loved this location. The hotel and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. However for the price of entry ($1,500-$2,000 per night), the food and overall experience don’t match the price, at least not from our perspective. While food is all included in the price, alcoholic beverages are not, which makes it not quite a completely all-inclusive resort. And as a result of COVID restrictions, a number of the amenities which would normally make this location a much more enjoyable experience like the Japanese pools, and hot tub, were all closed. We were aware of this prior to booking, but it definitely had an impact.
We were fortunate enough to have used points for our stay. The points per night are a GREAT value, so if you have points to spare, this would be a perfect place to use them.
If you have an opportunity to request or upgrade to a suite, the Big Sur Suite is lovely, with a fire place in-suite and a hot tub on the deck facing the redwoods. But again, for the price tag, even the interior of the room didn’t quite alone with the price.
