I booked this hotel based on the reviews on TA and we were seriously talking about leaving after a day of a 3 day stay.

It depends on your definition of a hotel but I think spa with rooms or possibly restaurant with rooms is a better description. Although it was August it rained for part of 2 of the 3 days we were there, and there are no common areas in the hotel to hide in. The area has a microclimate meaning it can be overcast and drizzly when the coast is warm and sunny only a few miles away.

The hotel describes a 'sweet and homemade breakfast in your room'. This consists of a bottle of fruit juice, a croissant from the local bakery, and if you opt for it, a packet of crackers and a packet of cornflakes. These were delivered every day with no bowl, milk or cutlery so I presume you're supposed to eat them with your hands. This happened every day so it wasn't an oversight. You can also get a coffee or tea. I live in Italy and I have never had bad coffee. This was from some kind of machine you get at motorway service stations and I couldn't drink it. The 3 of us shared one napkin. You couldn't get less like a luxury experience. The reason for this is there is no common are so a tray gets taken to your room.

The hotel website (I checked) also describes a bar. This turns out to be one side corner of the spa's reception desk. In the room information it says the juice bar is, wittily, IN YOUR ROOM. Yet again they mean they will take the juice to your suite.

You might imagine a wonderful suite where all this eating and juicing takes place. While modern, it was quite dim as it had one narrow set of french windows covered in thick curtains and a tiny desk around which we huddled at luxury breakfast time. It was fine as a room, but not as a place to spend the day out of the rain, breakfasting and having pre-dinner cocktails.

When we arrived we tried to book the apparently wonderful restaurant. We were told sadly there was a wedding that evening but were told we would be able to eat there the next day. The next day we asked for a reservation in the morning, which was fine, but by the afternoon they informed us there was again a wedding and the restaurant was closed. By the third day we were told the restaurant was 'fully booked' but sure enough the third bride popped down to the pool at sunset for her wedding pictures.

So this is a hotel where you cannot eat in the restaurant, although it looked nice as we drove past is, and where you huddle in your room in some confusion about where you will eat. It certainly served the worse breakfast I've ever experienced in any of the 50 or so countries I've been to and had the least facilities. The pool area was nice with beautifully tended gardens. The pool however was not clean every day and there was a dead frog in it at 11am one morning so no one had attended to it before then. I could go on about how they had run out of pool towels for half of our stay, or how uncomfortable we felt sitting in 3 sets of other people's wedding pictures, or how very bitten with mosquitos we were - which is my mistake - I should have worked that out up a mountain.

I presume most of the previous reviews are from people who attended wonderful weddings with presumably good food and had happy memories. Certainly we also got to enjoy the entertainment of the 3 happy couples. One enjoyed karaoke and participative loud games on the dance floor till midnight which is not quite what we had in mind when we booked a quiet mountain retreat. The others just treated us to cover bands crooning through the evening. It all felt like we were in the way and excluded from the party …but we booked the hotel on the basis there were some facilities other than a dark room and there weren't. If you are determined to go ask if there is a wedding, but since the staff never knew on the morning if there was one in the afternoon, I wish you good luck. The nearest restaurant/pizzeria is a few miles drive away…or you could save that packet of cornflakes from breakfast.

Room Tip: Try to get one away from the wedding entertainment. It can be quite variable.

Dear Guest,
from his review perceive that most likely she will never come out of his house, and certainly not even know the meaning of the word Resort (Please ask before making unnecessary reviews) .Its Room J. SUITE 204 is equipped with a window in the bathroom and access to the swimming pools and terrace directly from the room with a floor area of approx 36sqm. The only question that we would like to do (too much time in risponderla we would divert attention from deserving customers) at the time of booking confirmed stay b & b and not in HB, so do not attributable to our "Organization". He also pointed out that the performance of a well-known singer, perhaps unknown to her (it was not Karaoke), kindly OFFERED by the Directorate, has annoyed his stay, so highly recommend you to choose some MOTEL with "Tavern" internal to the maybe his next vacation on the Milan-Florence there are also nice and they do a great coffee ...
Thank you and Happy Holidays.

Gent.mo Ospite,
Grazie e Buone vacanze.
