Book with Mr Pie +6013-3613991, It's RM180, no GST charged. The journey from town to Kuala Bharu Bharu Post Office meeting point is around 1 - 1.5 hours journey. Mr Pie is the person in charged at Selangor River and he gave a very loud and clear guidance to the newcomer and rafters. His team of boat guide are amazing people too! there are also local foods been provided after the who rafting journey! I met a german & canadian couple there, they said they have been to water rafting in thailand and bali, but the selangor river experience is so far the best experience ever.
Mr Pie, the owner of this company, is the man to be with. Me and my wife felt safe with his detailed explanations prior, during and post whitewater rafting. We went down Ulu Slim river which was a blast. Both the team captains were experienced. I am a seasoned white water rafter and at the end of the day this is what you need, experienced staff. Safety is always top priority.
Besides that, enjoy the fun bumpy ride to the river and good moderate food. Be prepared to get wet and really wild!
I decide to join this water rafting at last minutes decision and it totally worth it. Me and two of my friends meet at KKB and Pie bring us to the starting point near the KKB dam. The rafting took about 2 hours plus along the 7km sungai selangor. The water was good at the time starting rafting and Pie was hilarious. We join another team to balance the raft and it was so thrilled
5 of us guys from Kuala Lumpur decided to go river rafting on a sat (26/7/14) and my friend Wong came across Mr Pie and his crew. Most of the reviews below have thoroughly explained the procedures and the experience of rafting in the Hulu Selangor river in Kuala Kubu Bahru. As a avid outdoorsmen who has been up mount KK and diving in the west coast to depths of 20m, white water rafting i can safely guarantee is ranked up there with one of the best adventures i have had. Basically, you do not have to do any paddling at all as the guides actually do all the work for you (navigating, paddling, steering and scouting ahead). You just have to sit back and enjoy the ride with rapids from class 1-4 to give you tons of adrenalin and fun. My friend Wong even fell into the river at the first class 3 rapid, but was fine and we laughed it off. The guides really put safety above everything else and will give you the most informative knowledge you would like to know about the humidity, pressure and water levels of the river if you ask. An interesting story of how they got the name PieRose, Pie is the name of the operator and Rose is the name of his Wife and they also have a son (forgot his name) but he is a wee bit plum guy but extremely funny and entertaining throughout our journey. Price is also alright which is RM 180. This family business is extremely good and i really encouraged people to try river rafting in Malaysia with them.
Kuala Kubu Bharu Town being a young couple who likes to enjoy fine, tasty and cozy style of life, this was definitely the perfect way of relaxing To start with an amazing view.
My friend and I had a really fun time rafting the Slim River with Pie. This is a family run business with someone who is a pioneer in whitewater rafting in Malaysia. Pie's crew is well-trained and know the river well. We were the only Westerners on the day we went (with about a dozen other people) and felt very welcome. The spirits of everyone was very positive and fun-loving. We met up at the post office in KKB and set out for the river as a group. The equipment is all as up-to-date as when I have been rafting in the US and Canada. The training was quick but thorough. The river was lovely; we stopped for swimming and snacks and finished up with a home make lunch by Pie's wife. We had a good chat with Pie (who has a great sense of humor and a deep love for the environment) and others at lunch. All-in-all a wonderful day we will always remember. Note that we were there during dry season. If you are too and Pie warns the river is low, take his word for it. You may want to reconsider going if you are averse to getting stuck on rocks! We had fun despite that.
