Unfortunately it was too busy for us to have lunch and there is no booking service which was disappointing as it meant we never got to taste any of the food!! But it was a lovely sunny day so we were able to squeeze onto a table outside and got to taste some of the delicious home-brewed beers! They were lovely. Hopefully next time we’re visiting England we can return to sample the food.

We are fairly frequent visitors of the Ship, the atmosphere is friendly the staff lovely and the setting itself, newly refurbished is very comfortable. We never really venture away from the fish and chips, when visiting the seaside it's a must. Always very fresh, hot, delicious and a good portion. We will be back... many times more.

This is a small place in the middle of nowhere, but it is worth a visit. The food, the beer and the atmosphere makes it all worth while. The beer real ale, made in the micro brewery. You can buy a pack to take away. We walked from Beadnell to teach it. The walk is fabulous. You can go through the fields or take the beach route. You can also park in a carpark at thevtop then walk down to the pub. Dogs are welcome in the pub.

We walked to Newton by the Sea from Beadnell, with the expressed intention of stopping at the Ship for a bite to eat, before our walk back. We had been here a couple of times before, but only for drinks.
We were away that the lunchtime menu is a little limited, but perfect for walkers, so it suited us perfectly. Nothing fancy' just a couple of toasted sandwiches, and a drink, and then we were on our way.
We timed our walk to arrive just on midday, as food service began. Luckily we did, as it became very busy afterwards.
Only downside are the loos, but they can be forgiven, due to the age of the building I suppose.
