This is standard Westin fare, our room was bright and modern looking. Location is convenient, right in the business/shopping district and about a 15min or so walk to the ferries or Rocks area. The hotel does feel quite impersonal though, it's in the same block as some offices as well as shops/restaurants (not owned by the Westin) on the lower ground floor, so it does feel like walking into a mall (albeit a beautiful one with some old world charm).

The gym is a bit of a joke, was about a 5-10min walk from our room through countless corridors, stairs and elevators. It's actually very nice and well equipped as its not a hotel gym as such. It's a separate members only gym and it seems like the Westin has negotiated access for guests. Quite a pain to get to that's all

We didn't try any the hotel restaurants and ate breakfast outside every day (once at Bills and once at a cafe in the arcade nearby), but did have dinner in the tapas restaurant on the lower ground floor one day which was nice enough. Can also recommend the "Sake" restaurant in the Rocks area if you like Japanese/Sushi. For lunch the 5th floor dining area in the Westfield shopping center nearby has loads of different cuisines/cafes/restaurants to try and we ate there every day

We have stayed several times at the Westin Sydney and keep returning for several reasons; We like the location being a short walk to Circular Quay or shopping, The rooms are large and light filled. We love having a view of the clock (although once he had an alleyway view, which wasn't great, but it wasn't awful either.) The front desk staff are always welcoming and helpful - upon check in my husband mentioned something to me about it being my birthday and the staff member must have overheard. That night when we arrived back from the theatre, there was a beautiful birthday dessert and a personalized letter waiting for us! I was shocked (and thrilled - it was yummy!) The beds are so comfortable I want one for home! The only thing I don't particularly like about the rooms are the glass walls of the bathroom, but I love the rain shower head, so it's a tradeoff!

The Westin Sydney is perfectly located - you can walk to almost everything. The hotel itself has everything you need from bars, restaurants to a gym and indoor pool. The service is exceptional 24 hours a day and the rooms comfort factor is superb. I have stayed at the Westin Sydney three times now and would recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel with the lot.

I didn't experience much of this hotel spending only about 10 hours in it, but what I saw, I liked.

Front desk were very helpful in changing my allocated room to somehing quieter when I mentioned on check-in my need for a quiet room.

The Tower room on level 5 was well-appointed and the glass-walled bathroom was especially fun.

The only negative was that there wasn't a power point in easy proximity of the bed, so I couldn't charge my phone while I lay in bed talking.

Great value at $200 through wotif.com

This wonderfully located hotel is extremely comfortable and has a certain chic presence about it; Ideal for the shopper and even better if you want to hide within it's walls.

The only negative is the pool which does not meet the standard of the rest of he facilities.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the rooms in the old part
