On first seeing this building it takes your breath away. Better than any picture, and being up close it is enormous. The architecture is unbelievable. I had no idea it was all tiled. The story behind it is great to read, and all the access to the area gives you an idea of the vastness of the project and the finished building. Its position in the harbour is jaw dropping with all the vistas from every angle. This is one of the wonders of modern architecture. Inside is well worth wandering around to just see how many auditorium it has. A magical building.

Had dinner before hand, we had only booked the day before we were going to the Opera and we had the last table. Food average, service was quite slow. We had to wait outside until the dot of 7.00 p.m. even though there were already people inside - quite unnecessary.

We felt the price of the tours were excessive, which we did not partake of. However the shop was a let down with the poor selection of CDs on sale. We expected to find magnificent recordings from one of the finest houses on the planet, especially their great organ. So so disappointed.

The must see attraction of Sydney, unique architecture.
Interesting to know the struggle for completion and budget issues.
Stunning views from ferries, harbor bridge and botanic garden towards this iconic building.
Evening opera is nicely lighted but less stunning as expected, lot’s activity towards the bar restaurants towards the ferry area (circular quay)
