Owner description: Circular Quay is a colorful port where ferries and cruise ships board and depart, and boat watching can be as good a pastime as people watching. While street performers entertain outside, those wanting a more cultural experience can head into the Museum of Contemporary Art where a sculpture garden on the roof is as much a view as the waterways below.

Always so many around the Quay. Its great to sit down, grab a pie or fish and chips and watch the buskers and crowds gather around. The ferries coming in and out are amazing and again its the people and kids always smiling ... beautiful part of town.

I love the Quay but the road works are expected to continue for another 12 months or so (I was informed by businesses in the area) and between the dust, noise and the limited pedestrian access spoils it. Walking down there were road works, barricades and you sort of needed to walk single file. Once there more works were taking place and more barricades...once to the Opera House it was OK but not a great time. Would avoid until works are finished.

Not to be missed for strolling, dining, entertainment, vistas of Opera House and Bridge. Great for people-watching.

With the din of trains running overhead coupled with the hooting horns from the arriving / departing ferries you know that you have arrived at circular quay in Sydney . What a location , you have the harbour bridge on one side and on the other you have the majestic Sydney opera house .Regular Ferries transport you to all points in the harbour . If you are not interested in a boat trip its well worth taking a walk to see the Opera house , have a bite to eat in the many resturants but beware the shops ( in particular the convenience shops ) are a total rip off .

Central location with access to harbor ferries, trains, Opera House and Royal Gardens entrances. Numerous restaurants with all types of menus from seafood to burgers and pizza. Also has many shopping stores to satisfy the other half. There are may hotels close by, walking distance and our favorite is the Shangri-La, great service!
