“Good food and coffee but..”
Review of Social Brew Cafe

Social Brew Cafe
Ranked #1 of 356 Coffee & Tea in Sydney
Certificate of Excellence
Description: Kitchen closes at 3pm Monday - Friday & 3:30pm on weekends. Social Brew Cafe - something of an oasis of good food and drinks in Pyrmont. Where, let’s face it, the cafe options aren’t as abundant as one would like. Which isn’t to say we’d just head there out of necessity; Social Brew Cafe is a stylish spot, with great service, as well as that aforementioned delicious feed. In the main cafe space, dark walls and hanging lights give Social Brew an industrial, stylish feel. Splashes of red, as well as big windows that open up onto the verandah and trees outside however, give proceedings a welcoming, friendly, relaxed air. Speaking of the “verandah”, outside is where you’ll want to be when the weather’s good and you’ve got a posse together to congregate over a smoothie, or a coffee, or a plate full of pancakes and bacon. Or, let’s face it, all of the above. Social Brew Cafe is found on Harris Street in Pyrmont, just a short walk from Darling Harbour.

We stopped here with some friends for brekky, food & coffe were very good . Can’t say the same for the service to be honest. We will come back as I am sure that it might have been a one off.

Locals recommended this cafe for the best coffee in Sydney? Well, the coffee was awful. It had a burnt aftertaste and was very watery. Staff were 'put out' because I asked for my coffee to be served the way I like it. I requested my coffee to be around 80 degrees. They snapped back "we don't have a thermometer and looked at me as if I had no right questioning how they prepared their coffee. Very, very disappointing! Will not return.

Great menu and such large portions! Great spot for people watching on the side of the road under a lovely shaded area of trees. Great coffee too!

Looking for a relatively quiet spot for breakfast away from my CBD hotel. Found Social Brew on trip advisor, checked out the many awards on their website and took the short walk across the Pyrmont Bridge. Great coffee, great porridge...highly recommended.
