This cafe is our go to in the city. Quick service great atmosphere as it is in the middle of a quiet arcade yet has a glass roof so the light is natural. The almond milk coffee is superb and they have reasonable sized cups not those small european ones. When next in the city if you want a short break drop in to this cafe.

Tried to have breakfast here on Sunday morning. We were pretty hungry & running out of options when we found this place. Seating is limited to the lane way with tiny tables. After sorting ourselves out I decided to go in & order. Once I got to the counter the waitress said there was table service but we hadn't seen anyone (for 10 minutes) so I told her I wasn't going to wait & placed my order with her. I could kind of tell it was all going to be stuffed up right away. There only seemed to be one waitress for service delivery & one behind the counter. They had already run out of rolls so my breaky burger was served on bread & therefore really messy to eat. 2 of the 3 big breakfasts were requested to have their eggs flipped but they all came out soft. There was nothing special about any of the breakfasts. No cutlery was on the table or brought out with the meals so we had to get up & find it for ourselves.

This place does a great capaccino and is always quick and efficient service wise. They also make great almond milk coffee, have decent sized cups and mugs, and give you raw sugar. If you are in the city and want to take a coffee break this place is ideal. The atmosphere is indoor/outdoors and its away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets and malls. Do drop in!

This was just absolute rubbish. I had the salad with chicken which was basically a chicken breast poached until it was rubber and then chucked atop the most pedestrian salad I've ever eaten. Do yourself a favour and keep walking, the food courts in Westfield are a better option.

I buy my coffee in the York Street cafe every work day. The barista's name is Apple. She is just a delight, makes a great coffee with extraordinary efficiency and knows everyone's name and coffee order after their second visit. The cafe uses Vitasoy Cafe soy milk, which is becoming rare in Sydney where the Bonsoy invasion has been relentlessly effective. Vitasoy has half the calories of Bonsoy and this is important when you drink 2 coffees each day.

The soup master in York street is Dave and his soup recipe book is beyond impressive. They genuinely are his own recipes. There are 2 new soups every day and they never fail to be delicious. You will never find lazy blender produced 'pumpkin soup' as offered by so many Sydney cafes on Dave's menu. Every soup has some gourmet twist and an authentic stock base. They are made with fresh produce with an emphasis on flavour. Try the Columbian Chicken or the Beef Goulash or for vegetarians, the tomato and olive or potato and leek.

For a once a week treat try the homemade muffins. You will need to ask as there are commercial ones on offer as well.
