The reason why Restaurants survive is delivering great food, quality service and a wine list that supports the food and what the chef is trying to achieve!
Bistro Gavroche delivers on all levels, yes sometimes they are a little slow (not often) but if you are wanting to make a night of it, whats the rush, chill out and let the magic begin!

We went to this restaurant last Saturday night after reading good reviews to celebrate our Anniversary. Firstly I have to say the food was good the courses are small so you are encouraged to have three courses which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. My problem was with the service. The first thing was when my husband asked about the wine he was going to order he said “is this a big red?” the waiter said “yes it’s a big bottle”!! And things never got better. We felt from the time we sat at our table they were hurrying us out. We had our cocktail, entree and then main course in 45 minutes. Twice they tried to clear our dinner plates and we had to tell them we hadn’t finished. Not only that but the first time the waitress didn’t even ask! They decanted our wine which wasn’t on our table and we shouldn’t have had to ask for more wine to be poured but when we did ask the waitress she said “ the same as before?”! Thinking we were ordering when we just wanted more wine poured. When we complained to the manager about these problems he seemed uninterested and unapologetic. There was no consistency with staff we literally were served by 5 different people. If we had the one waitress/waiter serving us throughout our meal this may not have happened. The standard of the staff does not match the price of food and wine. We expected more.

unfortunately the restaurant did not live up to expectations food wise. the french onion soup was disappointing and so were the steaks (ongelet). the foie gras was, however good. desserts were also disappointing especially the tarte tatin which i would have to say was very poor - it was soggy and tasteless. wines were also expensive and not good value for what we paid. service tended to be good.
