We stayed here for 3 nights this month in a hotel room. It was great value for money, rooms were clean, showers were hot, and all you need when staying and seeing the sights around Uluru, although this place is ranked a 2 star I would say it is at least a 3 star. Staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. Plenty of food options with the onsite restaurant Bough House Restaurant, often they have yummy spit roasts going. You can also buy pizza's burgers and chips from the Outback Pioneer Kitchen and then there is the Outback BBQ & Bar where you can get a buffet meal of steaks, salads, barramundi and wild game meats and cold beer, wine and spirits. Atmosphere is nice and casual. The only negative things I would have to say is that it is a shame that you do not offer meals for people coming back from later tours as the BBQ closes at 9pm and some tours finish at 9.30pm eg. The Field of Lights. Also if you want to book a helicopter flight go with Professional Helicopter Services (PHS) and book direct or through information centre in town, do not rely on hotel to book it for you. I missed out on the flight that I wanted as I did not phone the tour company direct - ended up booking at the info centre on a flight that was more expensive than the one I intended going on.

Room Tip: Go with the hotel rooms, queen bed with single bed configuration.

Hi megsjg
Thank you for sharing your experience at the Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge and we are so pleased that you enjoyed you stay with us and the facilities on offer. We do however sincerely regret that you were unable to book in to your first choice Helicopter Flight. We are only too happy to assist with tour bookings however given the extremely high occupancy we are currently experiencing small group tours do unfortunately fill quickly.
Thank you for choosing to visit this beautiful part of Australia as it was certainly our pleasure to have you as a guest.
Kind Regards

I was so impressed by the Outback Pioneer Hotel. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, the AC was cold, the shower was hot and the hotel employees were friendly and helpful. We were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of food from the restaurant on site. We also purchased a bottle of wine to enjoy in our room....it was a bit pricey which we expected, but we appreciated having the bottle shop on site. I would definitely stay here again. For me, no need to stay in the pricier options at the resort bc this place, though simple, is pretty darn great!

We wanted entertainment with a few beers and quick food, this place is ideal with friendly staff, plenty of selection of ales and the food was basic, but very tasty! The singer was very good and handled the song selections being given to him by the crowd!

Stayed at the Outback Pioneer Hotel for 3 nights. This is a 3 star hotel. Simple furnishings but clean and very friendly and efficient staff. We left our camera on the tour bus to Uluru and within 20 minutes of our enquiry, the staff had traced the bus and found the camera for return to us. Excellent service. Rooms near to the bar can be noisy at night due to the band playing. So, if you want peace and quiet, ask for a room at the back of the hotel.
