Holey Moley is unique, and popular, but don't go here if you actually want to enjoy putt putt.
Great venue for functions or to kill time with friends, but the courses themselves are better looked at, than played. Some holes literally require no effort, and are more aesthetic than anything else.
The first time I went, we had to wait before we could start to keep a steady flow on the course, however on Sunday they just let as many people go as they arrived, and it caused a severe backlog of people waiting to play holes which should take 1 minute each.
At 16.50 for 9 holes, it isn't great value for money and I'd recommend having a look, but don't have expectations of ever returning unless they introduce a drink and/or golf happy hour!
It is very easy ti give Holey Moley an excellent rating as it is so much fun and yes the novelty of the quirky holes are excellent but for most people the prices are just too high to make it a regular outing opportunity. I have noticed they have started discounting to students at selected times but for everyone else be prepared for an expensive hour or so.
Also Holey Moley crams the holes into such a small area if the place is busy and you have a group you could be waiting. On the plus side it is one of the only indoor putt putt venues in Brisbane and is a good option on wet day. Very fun for adults!
Visited this place whilst on a short break in Brisbane and found it to be great fun with an inventive course. Got a Groupon deal so played 18 holes for the price of 9. Bonus was having cocktails while we played. All in all a great night of fun and well worth a visit
Sometimes you don't want to just drink when meeting friends .... especially when you are designated driver anyway.
So someone had the bright idea of going to Holey Moley to play putt putt golf ... and it was so much fun!
It's also a licensed bar but we were all so busy playing on the very clever obstacle course holes that we only had one drink there.
Prudes may find the names of some holes slightly offensive......eg Glory Hole so bring your sense of humour as its all good clean fun.
We cheered each others good shots and laughed at the bad .. did I mention that it was really fun? Lol.
Great night out .... we will do it again
My partner and I came here for a game of mini golf during the day, it wasn't too busy at this time and we played all 18 holes. A hilariously entertaining mini golf course, but very small and short, understandable being in a renovated/restored church.
They have some brilliant and imaginative holes and clearly a lot of work/investment has gone into creating this. Only downside is the price - it's a little bit pricey for mini golf and especially for a short game/fairly easy holes - BUT with all the holes being inside they're making the most of the size of the church.
Overall, this doesn't at all take away from the truly unique mini golf experience. Would highly recommend this place for couples or a group of friends to go along and have a good time.
I'd like to think I'll be visiting this place every time I'm in Brisbane now! My partner and I chose this for date night and I'm so glad we did. What an awesome place. We went about 10pm on a Saturday night. It was a little busy but not so crowded you couldn't still have fun. The cocktails are a bit overpriced for the size you get, but the big mixed drinks in the beer steins were awesome and value for money. Only negative I have in that on some of the holes upstairs there were empty drinks and broken glass, so if the staff could be a bit more attentive to tidying, that would be it!
