“Worth it”

My husband and I spent the weekend at the hotel a few weeks prior to the birth of our second child. The hotel has recently ben refurbished and was very comfortable. Room was great size, clean and functional. A strong point was the really comfortable, ergonomic chair and foot stool at the desk area. I often find travelling for business in Australia this is the most neglected feature in a room...the Americans do it well so to find the Hilton with a workspace in a room that was comfortably to sit and work at was a plus. It would cause me to choose Hilton the next time I travel if they all have adopted this feature.

Importantly, service at the hotel was great from housekeeping (extra pillows) to front desk and especially concierge. The $50 parking fee for the day was well worth it.

Highly recommend it as a great weekend getaway hotel due to its centrality and also a well equipped business travel rest stop.

Whilst the Hilton in Brisbane is primarily a business hotel, the location could not be more convenient for all the attractions of central Brisbane. When we arrived we were upgraded to the Executive floor with access to the lounge where you were offered breakfast, afternoon tea and evening drinks with a very good selection of snacks. The hotel was undergoing renovations in the reception area but this did not affect our stay in any way. Contrary to other reviews we found the staff friendly and helpful particularly the concierge who helped to make the most of our short stay in Brisbane.

We live in Redcliffe, less than an hour away from the centre of Brisbane City. To my wife and I getting away to an Executive Hilton King Suite is a really enjoyable change. Especially if you enjoy shopping. The elevators go right down to the middle of the Queen Street Mall, so not far to carry your bags. Staff are always very friendly to us and nothing is too much trouble!!
We like the new instant movies system on the TV. Far better than the old "Movie Link" which is still used in many hotels.
Being in the middle of the city it is so convenient, not only for shopping but to all the restaurants and activities. We usually leave our car at the hotel and get taxis locally as it saves the hassles of parking and time it takes getting around yourself.
We never used to stay in this Hilton before the recent (and continuing) renovations. But it has a far better feel about it now and staying in the comfort of the suite with a nice large bathroom and walk-in closet, is like a home away from Home! The beds are very great for a good nights sleep!
The only fault was room service one night with stone cold soup and very greasy whiting fish and chips. This was after an extremely long wait. We couldn't eat it so the restaurant staff were very apologetic and sent replacements. Unfortunately, although the soup was at least warm, the fish and chips were still greasy and not up to a 5 star hotel standard.We didn't eat them. Two nights later we had different foods from the menu and they were very nice. So maybe we didn't get the usual chef the first night? Overall, we like this hotel, its team of people, nice rooms and great location! - Vaughan Bullivant

We stayed at the Hilton for one night and unfortunately didn't find the staff friendly. We are even part of the Hilton Honors which typically prompts excellent services. Majority of the staff could not speak english, it was very difficult communicating. We asked for dining recommendations and where given poor directions. What not worth the cost. Parking is insane $50 overnight.

Being an International Hotel we have to cater for many different nationalities and therefore we have staff who are multi lingual to allow them to make our guests feel at ease. However this should not effect there ability to provide good service.

I had great hopes for this Hilton, as the lobby is stunning and the location, convenient. Unfortunately, the front desk blew our first impressions by using trainees who asked stupid and rude questions of my guest and I. I know it's terribly complicated but my one reservation was for two rooms (to house the two people in front of them). The room was adequate and clean, but not anything unusual for the price and a bit noisy when neighbors rustled in the wee hours. Still, the food was good...just don't expect anything extraordinary from Hilton in Australia.
